My great grandfather conscripted himself to the ship's company in exchange for his passage from Liverpool to the United States. The term of the "contract" was the voyage. His labor on the ship was exchanged for the passage, food and lodging.
This bill is inane. So perhaps the way to stop it is with inanity.
First, an alternative name.
How about “Putting Black and Hispanic Children To Work Act”?
Black and Hispanic parents would like that, the government providing work for their children to perform instead of idling their time away, getting into mischief, hanging out all day playing games, and things like that. No more drugs, teenage pregnancy, gangs, being arrested and sent to jail, but strictly hard labor in uniforms, and learning how to be productive citizens.
In a pigs eye. Black and Hispanic parents would be up in arms, and screaming loudly.
Maybe call it the “Reeducation For Slavery Reparations Act”?
With a catchy slogan, like “Work Makes Reparations”, over the gate of the “campuses”. American descendants of slaves can get the full experience of what plantation slavery was like, doing such things as hoeing and picking cotton, living in compounds and practicing all such manner of slave lore. After some years of mastering this education, they might receive reparations for the slavery that their ancestors endured, equivalent to today’s prevailing minimum wage. Top graduates may even be hired to oversee undergraduate study.
Grounds for impeachment if there is ever a GOP majority again.
Wait until the suburban libs get a load of public housing in their communities.
Sounds like the subjects of this experiment will be put on buses and shipped around to some kind of diverse economic and ethnic re-education camps.
I believe it's been done through something called the "re-education camp."
Some days, it's really hard to believe we are the same species as these varmints.
Thank you for the heads up.
Thank you for the Ping
The Hitler Youth returns.
I have been raizing my grandson from birth, he is 13 now and they can KM-A if they think they will ever get thier hands on him. Come and get him!
Over my dead body, Obama. I will die a free woman before I live as a slave.
AND I don't like this..
Requires states to develop comprehensive plans for volunteer and paid service by Baby Boomers and older adults. That smells of the Communist rule that if you're a Car Mechanic in Idaho but they need them in Maine, that's where you get shipped of to! Or old retired Engineers in Chicago could get shipped off to Kansas to harvest wheat.Directs the Corporation to plan pilot programs to:
(1) better target and serve displaced workers; and
(2) establish a centralized electronic citizenship verification system which would allow the Corporation to share employment eligibility information with the Department of Education.
This 'thing' is 1000% unconstitutional. The Repubs in the senate better stop this in its tracks!
And I swear, these rat SOBs are just BEGGING for a Civil War!
They will never get my kids!
Imagine the daughters that would come back pregnant from these these re-education camps, except for the fact that they would be able to get abortions without the parents knowing about it.
