In this survey 400 respondents across the State of Alaska were asked who they would vote for in the Presidential, Congressional and Senate races. We also asked how perceptions of Gov. Sarah Palin have changed since she was selected as the Vice Presidential candidate.
The following question was paid for and released by Hays Research Group, and not done on behalf of any individual, candidate, or group.
Question 1
Would you say you feel positive or negative about Sarah Palin? And is that very (positive or negative) or somewhat (positive or negative)?
Very positive 162/400 40.5% Somewhat positive 83/400 23.8% Somewhat negative 50/400 12.5% Very negative 81/400 20.2% Don't Know / Refused 24/400 6.0%

From Conservatives4Palin:
Judging by these results, you can say that the "governor's approval index" is 21%.
According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, the President's "approval index" is at 4%, which is his lowest to date.

Anyone on or off the Palin ping, write me.
Danged if we don’t love that woman... guess that is contrary to Garafolo’s contention we Right Wingers (I am proud to be one) hate women. BTW an article the other day said Alaska was the only State to beat the Dead Beat Bank problem with -0- bailouts of their major banks.
As El presidente HussaneBama continues to plummet will there be a correlation to Sarah’s continued rise?
I would assume her 80% numbers are history, only because she is hated by the 30% moonbats that infest any state.
While these approval rates are somewhat lower than the time before Sarah became the VP candidate, I suspect Democrats who once approved of her are voting against her to make her look bad in an effort to undermine a future Presidential run.
Not if the Republican Party can do anything about it.
And that, in my opinion, includes too many on this forum.
just heard from a lib site..yes..Sarah is at 61% popularity..but a full 75% also dissaprove of her..while a full 81% don’t like her haircut and another 92% think she should be impeached and imappled..but they admit there is only a 50% chance of that..with a chance of rain at 40% in the morning..
dissaprove=disaprove..d’oh!!!
How do you get to 61% favorable? I read it and it says 40.5 + 23.8 = 64.3% approval...
I also don’t understand the approval index of 21%...how is that calculated?
I am certainly her biggest fan, but even I am getting tired of these little items. Please remove me from the list, or use more disgression in item selection.
I think she is an answer we may need sooner, rather than later! But, I may grow weary of seeing her, ten times a day, with a tight lip pic.
I have gone through two wives...
As you wish. I use disgression to the extent that I don’t ping on the tabloid private stuff, but only on political and grassroots relevant items.
Numbers add up to 65% approval, not 61%... am I missing something here?

I saw the same thing, regarding the overall approval rating. It should be 64%, not 61%.
I believe the approval index is calculated by subtracting the strong negative/disaprove figures from strong positive/approve figures. IOW, it only counts those who expressed a strong opinion, one way or the other.
You are right about the favorable rating. Should be 64%. Asked the mod to correct it.
The “Approval index” is from Rasmussen:
Palin is doing a wonderful job for Alaska. Its too bad the country couldnt see that far ahead and vote for her instead of Obambi. Alaskans think very highly of the job Palin is doing for them and their state and deservedly and rightfully so.
Approval index = strong favorables - strong unfavorables
Yes you are correct about the total number. I asked for correction.
Now, watch as the drive-by media splashes headlines saying: “Alaskans sour on Palin as governor’s popularity plummets.”
