Obama Is Serious About a Civilian National Security Force
Townhall Blog ^ | March 15, 2009

Posted on 03/15/2009 5:06:02 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

One thing about President Barack Hussein Obama, he usually means what he says, at least initially that is. He is always having to back track to cover up the things he really meant when he said it the first time. For example, he said the Rearend Wright was his spirtual mentor. Anyone who has studied the guy knows that this was truly what he meant, but of course Obama had to eventually dump the Rearend when he continued to hear flack about that asscociation of twenty years. Then there are many things he has spoken that are so unfamiliar with the typical American lexicon that they have been shrugged off as just campaign rhetoric. When he mentioned about having a "civilian national security force" that was just as strong and equally funded as the military, it went without hardly a mention by the major news outlets. Obama has never been pressed on this, and so he has not had to do his kabuki dance around what he meant. Oh, you heard about it in conservative pockets, like on Townhall, and on my blog on Yahoo 360. The thing is, this President is serious about what he says. In the video from July when he said it, the people just clapped on cue like a bunch of Obamatons while their beloved candidate was telling them that he will have a federal security force within our own country to enforce the coming federal mandates upon the states and the people.

Here's the comments from July, along with a well done illustration using the music from the "Sing for Change" kiddies that were used during the campaign. Thanks to Brain Dead Republican on youtube.

(VIDEO AT LINK)

Well, Mr. President Obama repeated his remarks just the other day at the dedication of Abraham Lincoln Hall at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C..

"And that’s why my administration is committed to renewing diplomacy as a tool of American power, and to developing our civilian nationanl security capabilities… … We have to enlist our civilians in the same way that we enlist those members of the armed services in understanding this broad mission that we have."

You can read more extensively by going to a great site called RightReborn.com . Their post has extensive links on this topic, including an audio clip from the Mark Levin show that has the above comments by Obama. During the campaign, I kept steering people to Investor's Business Daily and their series Audacity of Socialism. RightReborn also mentions IBD and one of the articles of that series. What good is information if it is never received and acted on in wisdom? The past couple of years have been a frustrating exercise for those who seek to truly inform others. There just does not seem to be much reception until everything goes to hell in a handbasket.

He’s WAY worse than I thought he would be.

He's EXACTLY what I thought he would be, but I've added more to his agenda in my head, that he hasn't even mentioned yet.

He IS working much faster than I thought possible.

If memory serves me, as I recall actually reading the article at the time, it was the JC’s that put it in to place.

And it was in fact a good plan on their part. IMHO

Militia service has been mandatory in our history. Pay a fine if you don't show up, or show up without proper equipment. Think jury duty. Here's an excerpt... "That each and every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age of eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years (except as is herein after excepted) shall severally and respectively be enrolled in the militia, by the Captain or Commanding Officer of the company, within whose bounds such citizen shall reside, and that within twelve months after the passing of this Act. And it shall at all time hereafter be the duty of every such Captain or Commanding Officer of a company, to enroll every such citizen as aforesaid, and also those who shall, from time to time, arrive at the age of 18 years, or being at the age of 18 years, and under the age of 45 years (except as before excepted) shall come to reside within his bounds; and shall without delay notify such citizen of the said enrollment, by the proper non-commissioned Officer of the company, by whom such notice may be proved. That every citizen, so enrolled and notified, shall, within six months thereafter, provide himself with a good musket or firelock, a sufficient bayonet and belt, two spare flints, and a knapsack, a pouch, with a box therein, to contain not less than twenty four cartridges, suited to the bore of his musket or firelock, each cartridge to contain a proper quantity of power and ball; or with a good rifle, knapsack, shot-pouch, and power-horn, twenty balls suited to the bore of his rifle, and a quarter of a power of power; and shall appear so armed, accoutred and provided, when called out to exercise or into service, except, that when called out on company days to exercise only, he may appear without a knapsack. That the commissioned Officers shall severally be armed with a sword or hanger, and espontoon; and that from and after five years from the passing of this Act, all muskets from arming the militia as is herein required, shall be of bores sufficient for balls of the eighteenth part of a pound; and every citizen so enrolled, and providing himself with the arms, ammunition and accoutrements, required as aforesaid, shall hold the same exempted from all suits, distresses, executions or sales, for debt or for the payment of taxes."

The militia used to be mandatory. And you didn’t get paid for drill. You did if you were called into state or federal service.

Well, this is the Amendment that pertains to terms in office...

Amendment XXII

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Now, it takes a 2/3s vote of the House of Representatives and of the Senate to propose an amendment. Then it takes 3/4 of the states in the United States to ratify such an amendment. And usually, there a time frame attached to the period allowed for approval. That is usually written into the amendment itself.

I don’t see it possible for Obama or the Democrat Congress to be able to get a 3/4 ratification vote by the states to give Obama a ‘lifetime presidency”... LOL...

Have you ever served?

Next question: do you think compulsory service is a desirable scenario now that this country has tried and been successful recruiting an all-volunteer force?

After the revolution, most of the states disbanded their militias, but New Jersey did not. Their militia served as a sort of state police, unless they got called up. At least this is what I learned from doing genealogical searches. Each town was expected to appoint or elect a representative to the militia, who doubly served as sheriff and militia member and was paid by the town.

It’s really disconcerting, because you can see how it can be “sold” to the public. I trust the military we already have, don’t see the need for any more militias...unless, of course, they’ve got more in mind that would prompt an armed citizens’ revolt.

Very powerful pictures. I have the same lack of “enthusiasm” for the usurper in chief as the patriots in picure #1. There is only one person in that picture who is not a patriot, sadly he is masquerading as “president” these days. Sigh.

Its actually way beyond not good. I was waiting for him to find an opportune time to bring that up. Just waiting.

It reminds of a scene in the movie the “Blue Kite,” about the cultural revolution in China.

A poor woman saved and saved to make some dumplings for the Chinese new year. She made them and had them cooling on her window sill. About that time a group of cadres comes marching by. One of the woman in the group sees her dumplings and starts denouncing her as a greedy imperialist traitor or some such nonsense. She confiscated her dumplings and marched on screaming.

For some reason, this scene has remained stuck in my conscious for the last 10 years. I fear that will be our fate soon. I also recommend that everyone see that movie.

No they did not disband their militias. Where the hell did you get that falsehood. The Militia Act of 1792 was law of the land until the 1860s, and the current militia laws (10 USC 311) bears many similarities to the original act.
