Video of Ron Paul debating Stephen Baldwin about the legalization of marijuana on Larry King Live March 13, 2009.
No.
I don’t know where people get the notion Libs want drugs legalized. Simply not true. They love government intervention in most things.
Ever noticed most of the criminals are democrats???
It would be a complete blow to their business structure if drugs were legalized.
The black market in booze is not large enough to sustain the cartels. There is virtually no black market in cigarettes in low-tax states.
An underground market simply cannot compete with a well regulated and reasonably taxed market like alcohol. Same would be true for marijuana. It's economics 101.
Big $$$.
3. Make the penalty for possession (no matter the amt) a min of twenty yrs in prison. No parole.
Who the hell says I think that’s the way to implement this?
I know quite a few people that don’t respect the current prohibition laws, so to speak. If pot were to become “legal”, it would only make a difference in price to them. Funny thing though, they get up off of the couch and work just like everyone else. How many people do you think, go to work with an alcohol hangover that lasts till noon?
I was talking about the “overdose” part of it. Those who go to work, they’re not overdosing. The “overdose” in this stuff is that you’re not going to work... LOL... (and believe me, there are people like that...)...
As far as those people who go to work, I would say as long as they are tested and don’t show up anything in the tests while they are at work, that’s up to them. But, if they “test” and it shows up, then fire them...
In canada alone the black market cigarette business is about 1.6 billion $$. Even if the demand is 1/10 of that in the USA, It would be worth about the same dollar wise. Plenty to sustain the cartels. Booze would be a decent sized black market as well.
I thought marijuana was already legal on "Larry King Live" and that Larry always has a bong under his desk that he uses during commercials.
"I need to order some more of that Colombian bud after the show....we're back on in 30 seconds, right?".
That is a problem. Obama will not only mandate tax supported treatment for abusers, he’ll use tax money to buy them dope too.
LOL...
Prohibitionists = statists. No difference.
May as well change the title to "idiots for cannabis.com". They aren't "christians".
All "recreational drugs and drug use, cannabis included, are destructive to society. They destroy lives not just those of the users either. I don't want to pay for the costs of your pot use, sorry. That includes the lungs you'll need after you cough your old ones out one day.
Get rid of the welfare state? I’m all for it! Unfortunately, welfare staters voted in the current president and Democrat congress. You might just as well ask them to surrender both lungs and heart.
Legalizing marijuana would be good in many ways, but would only really work well in a truly libertarian society. Our society is a bail-out society. From making risky loans to abusing alcohol and drugs, no one suffers the full cost of their stupidity. We are all forced to bear the costs.
It takes about 7-10 days for a pot smoker to test clean after smoking ONE joint.
We fire anyone who fails a drug test at our place.
Some insurance companies won’t give life insurance if you test positive.
More and more companies are using drug tests, especially trucking companies.
EEE: No, being a surrender monkey, an Al Qaeda apologist and mouthpiece, anti-American, and an absolute DO NOTHING (except posing for holy pictures) to stop the slaughter of babies, cramming earmarks for Houston-Galveston for such national priorities as shrimp fishing (among many, many other things) into annual budgets while posing as opposed to wasteful spending, and being one of the most persistently dishonest excuses even for a Congresscritter are what makes treasonweasel Paul a liberal. No one takes the dingbat paleoPaulie seriously other than our nation’s enemies who are in passionate love with him (for services rendered).
That’s a good deal. That’s exactly as it should be...
You got it.
In the real world, Potheads follow the path of least resistance. Theft, welfare, prison.
