I would smoke weed all the time if it didn’t make me fat. Or more accurately, make me want to pig out which makes me fat. One time I got high during IRON CHEF and pretty much ate everything in my kitchen. Actually it was my parent’s kitchen at the time. They were mad.

Its re-legalizing it, not legalizing it.

Naughty vegetables = totalitarian garden. Brings out the worst in "conservatives".

What happened to the mob when prohibition was overturned? They went into other criminal activity.

Another dumb idea from the Schizophrenic.

Do you mean Libertarian? Gotta be careful with Paul, you know. I tend to think drug legalization is a rather silly thing to fight for (why hurt yourself?), but I think I’d gladly accept it as part of a platform that got the government off our backs in many other ways.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s right about MJ. Don’t use the stuff, don’t advocate others use the stuff, penalize folks if using dope causes accidents, etc. Otherwise, we should own our own bodies.

“By a free country, I mean a country where people are allowed, so long as they do not hurt their neighbors,
to do as they like. I do not mean a country where six men may make five men do exactly as they like.”

Maybe that's what's wrong with Ron Paul. Too many years of inhaling hte weed. He's out of his mind.

Fine, legalize it and establish laws similar to DUI (DUH?). Just don’t take a dime from my pocket to pay for any health issues the tokers may suffer later.

Lib = Liberal = Libertarian.

No difference.

Exactly Clint

Some folks are looking for easy answers to a situation
that has to be fought. Living arond 16 miles north from the war zone of Tijuana where the killings, beheadings, etc. go on, Drug Cartels are just part of the situation.
The corruption in the Gov., Police, Army, etc. in Mexico
has to be delt with.

Yeah. And to Hell with all that morality stuff, right?

“We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions which are unbridled by morality and true religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

— John Adams

Let's face it, the ‘War on Drugs’ is a joke, or would be if it wasn't so selectively enforced, used as a means of control and didn't destroy otherwise normal, peaceful lives.

Paul was right on the mark when discussing drunk vs. stoned driving. My own personal experience, having done both, is that when drunk the drive is reckless, high speed and likely prone to involve some kind of 'Road Rage' incident. When stoned the only problem I've seen is the possibility of getting a ticket for going too slow.

I've also yet to witness any violence among those who are smoking but I've seen plenty between drunk people.

Pot is just a Red Herring and a means of expansion of Gov’t control and capture by Agencies of enormous resources.

My opinion, decriminalize it. Don’t let the government get into any aspect of it.

Yep. If a citizen is productive, shows up for work on time & puts in a good day’s worth - and doesn’t cause harm to anyone else - I don’t really care what they do on their own time.

As far as not wanting to pay for their health issues - that’s a slippery slope. We all do things that could injure us, I don’t think we ought to be policing people’s private lives like that.

Pro-2nd Amendment, pro-US sovereignty, pro-life makes Paul a lib?
