Amen. This is like an internal 9/11. Look at how so many of us drew together after that, after a divisive election season and a generally unfocused summer after that.
This is a BIG mistake. Huge. Even the moderates who voted for 0bama because they projected their own hopes and expectations on him. They chose not to look too closely.
But start down this path, and he'll pull that big 'ol, soon to feel betrayed, middle together with us. Against him. And good luck with that,
Irish, I have to say your posts on this thread have been outstanding. Thank you.
Not blasphemous IMO. That picture is hilarious!
Tanks for new tag - let’s see if it fits.
When the banner was hung that said "We Will Never Forget", it felt good...but we have "Forgotten", except here, amongst you great people. Yet we are not alone!!!!
Our local rag published the middle row of the second photo down, on the front page, which really shocked me. THAT is worry.

Bless you, but it is you, and all of us as a whole that are outstanding. Thank you for your kind and inspirational words.
Hey, when ya gotta eat, ya know?
Great quote from Ronald Reagan!
Another history story from the book. After British soldiers set up headquarters in Boston, the soldiers were treating the American boys cruelly, knocking down their snow forts and breaking up the ice on the pond so they couldnt skate. The boys took the complaint to the British General Gage. Now quoting “After they had laid their wrongs before him, he said “Have your father been teaching you too to rebel and did they send you here to show their teachings?” “Nobody sent us sir” answered their leader “but your soldiers have insulted us thrown down our forts broken the ice on our pond spoiled our coasts and we will not stand it.” Genreal Gage could not help laughing at the earnetsness of these plucky little fellows. He promised that the soldiers should not bother them any more; then turning to an officer near by he said “even the children here draw in the love of liberty with the very air they breathe” My prayer is that we all teach our children to do the same! I fear I will be up all night reading this book. Oh why oh why oh why did I read this posting before bedtime LOL!
Look at this:
Lots of obvious disgust, but not smile one that I can see.
You know what I had completely forgotten about until I saw that History Channel Special tonight? Franklin's own son was the King's appointed Governor of NJ, and try as he might, Ben was unable to convert him to patriotism versus loyalty to the King...Ben Franklin had to separate himself from his son's loyalties to do what he did...Geez, what a personal sacrifice...how heavy would that weigh on your heart?
Yes. My DVR didn’t make such a good recording on Friday, so I recorded it again today. I did skip ahead to see the end, and I’ve listened to Beck on and off every morning.
I *know* I’m a September 12th American, and know who the others are, including my Freeper son (ping!). I changed my tagline on 9/11 and while I’ve expanded it, I’ve never changed it to anything else.
The Sept. 10th-ers are tackling the only enemy they can stomach: the weather. Sheesh.
I truly believe this rumble we’re feeling is real, and that it’s deeper and more widespread than we really know. Beck’s show was inspiring in that it showed how MANY people participated, not just in sending their photos in (enough so they crashed a couple of GMail accounts), but in the sheer numbers of people meeting in person on Friday.
Did you see it on the local or national news?
I didn’t either.
Blue State blue.
Thank you, Irish.
We surround them.
There is one battle, not yet joined by the Obamites, that is more important. That is the attempt to ban private ownership of militia suitable weapons, and handguns which are quite suitable for shooting some brown/black/red shirt thug as he comes in your door to confiscate your property or haul you or your kids off to one of these "campuses". Some of that was done as part of our previous great experiments with Socialism. The National Firearms act (1934 ) and the "Federal Firearms Act (1938) and the Gun Control Act (1968). of course there is also the soon to be reenacted "Assault Weapons Ban"(1994) and the accompanying Brady Act (1994). All were passed when Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House.
But never fear, or fear a lot, the White House site still shows The Messiah calling for the renewal of the AWB.(It's under "Crime and Law Enforcement" and "Address Gun Violence in Cities".)
As in 1775, the time to fight is when they try to take your guns. Before then, politics is the arena of the conflict, after that, it's fight or be enslaved. The crowd in Congress and the White House is going for enslavement, which of course they call "Hope and Change".
