Several Republican conservative fundraisers have approached Washington County Commissioner Diana Irey to ask her to consider a primary run against Sen. Arlen Specter.
Sources confirm they have offered to help her raise money.
One strategist said of the close-door meeting the conservative group was particularly impressed that when Irey went up against Rep. Jack Murtha, D-Johnstown, in the 2006 midterm primaries, she was able to raise between $300 to $400K online.

I see the conservatives splitting the Conservative vote, and Spector using divide and conquer strategy to squeak through.
THere is already one conservative running against the PA Cadaver.
Toomney hasn’t made a final decision yet. I hope he doesn’t run. He’s a free trader (a big loser in PA) and, if I’m not mistaken, doesn’t live in Pennsylvania.

It must be mandated that only ONE run against Spector. I’ve read that Toomey is gearing up for a gubernatorial run.
Perhaps Toomey in 2010 then she can run against Casey in 2012?
First Toomey, then Peg Lusik, and now Diana Irey. Spector just might sneak thru the primary. Frankly I wish Spector pulls an Liberman and run as an Indie. This would cancel the big Dem vote in the Philly metro area.
I think we need more female candidates to run. I am leaning toward Irey for Pa and Steelman for MO.

Is Toomey an amnesty cheerleader? The group he led sure is. If so, he can join the democrats.
Peg Lusik claims that Toomey gave her his word that he wouldn’t run and that, because of this, she won’t step aside if Toomey runs. However, perhaps Lusik would step aside for Irey.

Sphincter really belongs in an Alhzheimer Wing of a Mental Institution and NOT in the Hallowed Halls of Congress:-) May Diane Irey clean Sphincter’s Clock so to speak and give Pennsylvania ONE Sane and Patriotic Senator, something We deserve Dearly!
Yeah! Get rid of Specter. Irey is one of the few politicians I sent money to.
From what I’ve read, Toomey seems the LEAST desirable.

I have never donated to a political candidate before. And I still will not give to the RNC as long as the RINO Steele is in power.
But putting Spectre out to pasture is goal #1.
