Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom confirms that the former Massachusetts governor is helping put together a Boston fundraiser for the Louisiana governor and a possible rival in 2012.
--snip-
Jindal is up for reelection in Louisiana in 2011, a race that, if as he's indicated he enters it, could well rule out a presidential bid.

Dear Bobby, beware of Mitt.
It would be a much greater comfort to have Mitt running things as President then the socialist we have today.
More like ‘support your future VP’.
I’d say it’s a fairly clear sign MR’s not running again.
It’s called ‘gang up to stop Sarah Palin’.
I’d rather have a conservative over Mitt or Zero, regardless of which one of the two is the lesser big-government advocate.
I like Jindal, but he’s not ready to be POTUS just yet. Another term as governor and a possible cabinet appointment (if America ever elects another Republican again) would do him a world of good.
Why would re-election in 2011 rule out a presidential bid in 2012? Running for re-election in 06 sure didn’t stop Hillary from running in 2008.
If anything, Romney’s biggest mistake was not running for re-election in Massachusetts. Why should Jindal make the same error?
Best news I've heard in a good while.
You think so? IMO, she’s not going to run in 2012. Would she want to potentially lose twice to Barry?
Yep. I suspect that Mitt and Jindal are doing the math and figuring that, given the GOP's history of next nominating the second-place finisher Mitt's got the best shot at getting the GOP nomination, especially if he grabs Jindal to shore up the conservative base and the south. They probably figure combined they have the best shot at defeating Palin for the nomination.
And Palin’s got more charm and appeal from up in Alaska than the two of them have together. An all-wonk ticket isn’t a winner.
Jindal is a lightweight and Mitt is not a conservative.
Best find someone else.
Mitt at least could grasp the business cycle, the laffer curve and tax cuts generating revenues.
Mitt is not a Conservative, at least not in any implementable sense of the term, however he was a fine businessman.
Money’s tainted. Nothing comes from Slick Willard without strings.
I'm sick of at least (eg. John McCain). I'll support a conservative.
That would be a wonk and a wanker.
Jindal is not a natural born American as his parents were NOT citizens at the time of his birth.
