Reminder Post since the Tea Party threads are burying this important Defend Arlington Cemetery/Support the Troops Event.
Added since last post is a Subway Train Link and a Weather link in Post No. 1
A.N.S.W.E.R. will be in D.C. once again this March 21, 2009 for their march on the Pentagon.
Gathering of Eagles/Eagle Up will already have Eagles watching over the various Military Monuments and recruiter stations. If you want to help in this endeavor, contact concretebob.
But if you want to help protect the sanctity of Arlington Cemetery, we will be there.
FreeRepublic, along with any one who will join us, will once again occupy an area on the Virginia side of the Memorial Bridge on the south side of Arlington Circle.
DATE: Saturday, March 21
TIME: 11:30AM to 4PM
PLACE: South side of Arlington Circle - See Map Below
CLOSEST METRO: Arlington Cemetery BLUE Line
PARKING for the Metro: There is a parking garage just 75 feet (25 yards for you military types) west of 16th Street on the NORTH side of both Eye and K Streets. A quick walk (1 1/2 block maximum) to the Farragut West station, hop onto the BLUE Line to Arlington Station.
The parking garages are 3/4 block east from the Farragut West station.
There is also a lot of street parking on the east side of the Foggy Bottom Station. Be watchful though of any metered parking spaces as they have a short time limit.
Please do NOT park in the Arlington Cemetery Parking garage.
There is a place to dropping off passengers where we are going to be at. Be mindful that the Memorial Bridge will be closed as ANSWERs march gets close. And some roads on the north side of the Lincoln Memorial will also be closed.
It is anticipated by the Park Police that ANSWER will cross the bridge around 2PM and take an hour to cross. Personally I think it will be earlier and quicker since the leftist anarchist have their messiah in the White House to do their despicable deeds. They dont need to march any more.
MAP of our location. Click the Map for the Google map. Sorry folks, we could not get half of the circle this year.
If you remember GoE I, it was cold, damp and very windy. This year the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic will have a tent, hot coffee, hot cocoa and some munches. We will also have posters for everyone, some courtesy of past GoE events. We will also have several bull horns.
MEMORIES for those at Arlington Circle on March 17,2007
If you are in town the Friday before, please stop by the Walter Reed FReep. We are at the corners of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW from 7PM till around 9:30PM when the dinner bus returns to Walter Reed. There is plenty of parking.
Also, Mark your Calendars for May 23, "Defend America Rally. This is NOT a FR, GoE or Eagles Up event but sounds like a real good event to attend.
And June 13, Victory in Iraq Rally amd March, sponsored by Gathering of Eagles and Eagles Up but FReeRepublic will lend any help we can. Some help we can give is by donating money. Check with Concretebob to see if he needs any help. This march was originally slated for April 4 but the Cherry Blossom Festival superceded it.
I knew there was a leftist she-creature out there uglier, inside and out, than Helen Thomas or Barbara Mikulski. Your posted picture reminded me it was Lynne Stewart, the Inedible Hulk.

WILL BE THERE IN SPIRIT! STAND YOUR GROUND, DON’T BACK DOWN! GOD BLESS ALL!
Thanks. Weather looks a lot better than GoE I, sunny and in the 50s. Just hope the wind is not blowing.
Park Service is being a pain about the permits. But we shall adapt and over come.
[Mr] T
The Park Service probably approved ANSWER’s with no hassle.
Well, you go get ‘em! We’ll be thinking of you.
Best Wishes to all!
I hope you saved your signs! Looking forward to the AAR and pics. You know where I’ll be : (
late night bttt. Am trying to work out the logistics of getting there. Are flags on poles okay or is the Nat’l Park Service having issues with them?
There are also parking garages in Rosslyn very near the Metro station which is the station on the BLUE line right before Arlington heading south. Not sure of exact locations or prices, but figured you or Buford could link it.
Flags with poles are good to go.
You are correct about the Rossylyn Metro. Thanks.
Just a Late night BTTT. Lord willing and the creek don’t rise I should be there—possibly even for Friday night at WRAMC as well.
I hope the Lord wills it. It’s always good to see you. There will be more FReepers at WR tonight so you won’t be alone on a corner this time.

wolfpat - Thanks for the suggestion. I guess being on this side of the river I was just thinking of where I usually park for D.C. FReeps.
Pentagon City and probably Rossyln are both good.
[Mr] T
So, how did it go?
VietVet
With you in spirit, though the flesh is weak.
It went real good. Lots of sun, lots of warmer temps than two years ago, lots of police, lots of excitement from our crew, lots of waving and honks for us. We gave the moonbats our typical hard time.
While our numbers were small, their numbers were a lot smaller than GoE I.
BufordP will be posting the AAR as soon as he gets all the picture and video links.
