Gov. Bobby Jindal says he disagrees with President Obama on stem cell research.
The president Monday cleared the way for increases in federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, arguing in the interests of scientific and medical advances. Obama lifted funding restrictions on the research imposed by former President George W. Bush.
Jindal told reporters he saw it as an issue akin to abortion. He said he supported the Bush administration's restrictions, which blocked some funding because embryos are destroyed to create the cell lines.
I find it highly ironic (and typically liberal) that the loon from Colorado who praised this decision said that legislature had no place in science, yet, she willing accepts government funds.
The fact that Obama cut off funding for the widely successful Adult stem cell research proved this is all about abortion and has nothing to do with science.
Is that true? Do you by any chance have a source?
Only Robert P. George seems to have pointed out that Soetoro reversed TWO Bush EO’s. He reversed an EO that SUPPORTED ADULT stem-cell research.
Doesn’t this make Soetoro anti-science?
It shows that he is anti-science if the science doesn’t involve killing babies.
More baby-killing by Hussein. Just like they use “science” to cover up all their other liberal agenda, they use it here (calling it “stem cell research”) as a way to kill babies.
He did? I didn’t know that?
Sec. 5. Revocations. (a) The Presidential statement of August 9, 2001, limiting Federal funding for research involving human embryonic stem cells, shall have no further effect as a statement of governmental policy.
(b) Executive Order 13435 of June 20, 2007, which supplements the August 9, 2001, statement on human embryonic stem cell research, is revoked.

HHS/NIH Plan for Implementation of Executive Order 13435: Expanding Approved Stem Cell Lines in Ethically Responsible Ways
On June 20, 2007, President George W. Bush issued Executive Order 13435. The Executive Order requires that “The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall conduct and support research on the isolation, derivation, production, and testing of stem cells that are capable of producing all or almost all of the cell types of the developing body and may result in improved understanding of or treatments for diseases and other adverse health conditions, but are derived without creating a human embryo for research purposes or destroying, discarding, or subjecting to harm a human embryo or fetus.”

That said, her quest is reprehensible !!

Sorry, I was asking if it was true that Obama stopped adult stem cell research funding.
I’m curious about the adult stem cells myself.
I posted 2 links and 2 snips from them that show the answer to your question is no.
Thanks.
here is the full text of Bush’s actual exec order that obomma revoked
http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2007/pdf/07-3112.pdf
here is a description (contemporaneous) of Bush’s Presidential Statement of Aug 2001 which was also revoked by obomma
http://stemcells.nih.gov/policy/2001policy.htm
it appears that obomma did not cut anything regarding Adult Stems, absent proof to the contrary
Seriously???????????????????????????????????????
Obama also rescinded Executive Order 13435 of June 20, 2007.
President Bush put that order in place in June 2007 when he vetoed a Congressional measure that would have required embryonic stem cell research funding.
Instead of signing the bill, President Bush issued an executive order to press for more research into ways of obtaining embryonic stem cells without harming human life.
The order was intended to ultimately fund research into alternatives" to destructive embryonic stem cell research such as altered nuclear transfer (ANT), "regression" (reverting differentiated cells into stem cells), and other methods.
Here’s the thread on the adult stem-cell research funding cancellation:
