Do you really think that two-thirds of the states would approve this amendment with in the couple of year time frame you allow?

Given the rate at which urban rot is introducing blue-state cancer to the red states, and Republican affinity for their own pork and earmarks, yeah, I do see it as a possibility.

If FDR did such a great job...so great that we are supposed to re-enact the New Deal, then how the heck did the 22nd ammendment get passed in the first place. I think we must be seeing some revisionist history here...if FDR was really so bad, that 2/3 of the states got together and said NEVER AGAIN.

Personally, I don’t think bambi will go the ammendment route. More likely, he will suspend elections, due to some ‘national emergency’ that we ‘may never recover from’. We’ll need ‘continuity’, and can’t be ‘distracted’ by an election cycle. He’ll say that he ‘inherited this problem’ and its not his fault that he has to take this action. The media will go along.

An alert republican (are there any?) would add a rider requiring presidential candidates to document their birth and constitutional eligibility to serve as president.

I think the national emergency situation in all likelihood is the route he’ll take but the fact that one of our elected officials is already trying to crown this scumbag sickens me.

This cannot be allowed to happen. If anything, we need to impose term limits on the Congress, too.

Removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Mr Serrano would prove more honest if he had proposed his change to the constitution while Bush had at least 2 years left in his presidency.

And that brings up the question of honesty and real reasons for proposing changes to the constitution or to the law in general, which would favor the party in control.

There probably should be a law mandating that, if anyone proposes any constitutional changes, that those proposals should be made while the opposition party is in control. Thus, Mr Serrano would not be allowed to propose his "change" while Obama is president, and no republican would be allowed to propose changes while a republican is president. Likewise for control of any house of congress.

I didn’t think 53% of the population would vote for 0bama but it happened.

When they finish with the 2010 census run out of the Obama White House, Obama will probably get 63% of the "population" voting for his 3rd term. Then, we'll have people from the world over flown in by our own military jets to vote for Obama when residence, not citizenship, is the requirement for voting for his 4th term.

I believe that this is fairly regularly proposed. I doubt that even democrats will want the Obama Man to stay in there very long.

If the election were held today, we would be talking about President McCain rather than Obama.
