I ran across this article while reading the online edition of our local paper. I think this is blatant in it's reverse racism. Is this occurring in other area's of the country?
I would like to hear other opinions and what it could be portend for police departments across the country if this becomes the standard hiring practices of cities, counties and states.
Maybe they just need to lower the standards and let some of the inmates join the force. After all, there are plenty of examples in other cities where cops are just bad guys with badges.

They know that nothing will happen to them because this type of racism is allowed and encouraged in today’s PC climate. This is actual racism. In actions.
However, if a normal person just SAYS something that is called racist, he is immediately trashed and fired.
Well, when we investigated what the quota nimrods failed to investigate, we found that there were two primary sources of all those black people of military age:

OK, if I had the chance, I would take out the word ‘reverse’, and call it what it is... racism.

When the the race of the athletes in the NBA becomes racially “balanced”, then I will listen to their argument.

In Jacksonville, FL a few years ago, they lowered standards for police applicants in order to accomodate blacks so that those who had criminal associations could still be accepted. Finally, after several people had been killed by the criminal extortion rings being run out of the police department by these people who had been waivered in, they decided that it wasn’t such a good policy after all.
Some of the comments at the link convince me we are destined for a 2nd American civil war. Im glad I”ll be on the side with more guns.
I think I read that the city of Atlanta has waived the rule borrowing Felons from holding jobs as PO’s.
Was standing in the fingerprint line as part of the application process for LEO and there was a guy in front of me who was saying he didn’t need to be printed again. I asked him, “Again? You’ve been through this before?” He replied that he’d just been released from jail that morning and since he was here thought he’d try out for the force. You can’t make up this kind of stuff.
There is no such thing as ‘reverse racism’. It’s hatred, period. Not reverse hatred, just plain ol’ HATRED.
I was directly involved in a case in the 1970’s where I was fired because of my race. There is no term reverse racial discrimination. It is plain racial discrimination.
It’s NOT reverse racism.
Just racism.
When you use the left’s vocabulary, you empower their agenda.
An idea on how better to recruit reluctant blacks to the force: Pay blacks more. They’re going on and on about how important a cop’s skin color is, so why not cut the bs and simply pay blacks more because they’re black? Problem solved, hayna?. You’re welcome, North Charleston. What else do you need help with?.

Years ago when I bothered reading IEEE journals (IEEE = academic electrical engineering society), I would come across ads in the back for positions. A number of them had the words “Women and minorities strongly encouraged to apply”. Translation: this position is reserved, no white males should even bother sending a resume.
