That is how quite a few Politicians (mainly Dems) lost their jobs and the Dems lost congress in '94 after passing the "AWB", Make sure you remind your reps of that, especially if they do not favor the 2A...
My rep has a CCW permit - Jean Schmidt.
I’m not particularly enamoured with her, especially given she’s no Rob Portman (who she replaced here)...but I’m not worried about 2A with her.
I’m more worried she’ll say something stupid and become a late night punchline again....(chuckle)

This article is nonsense. Bobby Rush, the former Black Panther, concocted this bill. He couldn’t get one Congressman/woman to co-sponsor this piece of garbage.
When are we going to stop buying in to fear mongering? It is an embarrassment to see all of the posts indicating that people here believe this bogus article. Of course if Bobby Rush or any of the gun-grabbing politicians in Congress could get away with it, they would eliminate the Second Amendment in a New York minute.
They can’t do it. Anybody who tried would be committing political suicide. Bobby Rush gets reelected because he comes from an African-American district that has been brain washed into blindness. Rush is a joke. Treat him like one. And above all, stop putting garbage like this on FR without checking it out first.

I’m a little confused here, as I did NOT put anything on here about this bill. I am 2nd Amendment, NAR person. I received a private email about this asking what I thought, but why are you asking me or making those statements, since I didn’t post it OR comment on it.

Here is link to HR1022 from 2007 that another FR says now has 50 supporters....my idea is watch what they are doing carefully, to make sure NOTHING to do with restricting gun ownership regarding the 2nd Amendment slides under the radar. Changes could impact current owners with risks of arrest down the road, when the evils want to get ugly.

IT should have been self explanatory, with the first comment, and WHY is being asked about now, it’s 18 months later??
If I misunderstood you I apologize. I did contact the office of Bobby Rush to inquire as to why he, when he was a Black Panther, became recognized by the public for the first time when the Panther’s exercised their Second Amendment rights.
If you remember they showed up in uniform and carrying shotguns on the steps of some public building. They began following police patrol cars around Oakland, adding to their reputation as activists.
The woman I spoke to informed me that law enforcement supported Blair- Holt. I told her that law enforcement where I live definitely do not support Blair-Holt. She then asked whether I had ever had a loved one killed by a gun.
I told her that was irrelevant to what we were talking about. She hung up the phone. After that I did a search on the bill and discovered that Rush had proposed this in the past and was unable to get a single co-sponsor.
Again, if I misunderstood you I regret it. But I did not misunderstand all of the posts that obviously believed that this was a current threat to gun ownership. It is not.
No problem, it was just confusing, because anyone can COPY an old post and repost it to make a point. I do believe the mail I received is because someone is trying to bring this bill back to forefront for discussion. It may be in different format. I don’t think it will fly.
My comments in 2007 had to do with the coming election in 2008, and the democrats possible winning, and maybe trying to get ‘gun control’. I believe what happened in Wash, DC caused them to back down, as it became clear residents could protect themselves.
If that had not happened, and went to court, then I believe they would have tried to ram control down our throats like healthcare.
We cannot rest easy, because there are reports of rampant voter fraud AGAIN, and some places are saying if you vote a STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN ticket, it registers DEMOCRAT, so be careful on TUESDAY. I voted early and took time to vote individually for each person. Then made sure right boxes were checked before final vote registered, on that last push.

This is why I am glad that I can vote absentee ballot here in Ravalli County, MT. I take my completed ballot to the office of the Clerk and Recorder. She is a woman I know and trust.
Voter fraud is a mainstay of Democratic Party machines that control government in large cities. Frankly, I am holding my breath this time. America has never had a more criminal administration and Congress that I have seen in my 75 years on the planet.
I think that Obama is deranged, so there is no way to telling what he may do as his delusional view of himself continues to be threatened. If the Democrats suddenly wind up winning all of the closely contested races around the country, America may suffer a Constitutional crisis. I pray that it doesn’t happen.
We voted early, and chose every person individually, as county next to us is one that has been warned about the ‘Republican straight ticket’ will be a democrat vote. Not surprising, as this county has a reputation for dead voters, and several decades ago one couldn’t get a job unless a registered democrat. SAD.
