No quarter, no obedience, no mercy. Molon labe. I hope they want this really badly, because it will be costly. The multi-trillion dollar budget will not be costly; they will just print more money. This will be costly. Expect the unexpected.

Nothing about this bill has been “under the radar” except that the MSM has refused to pick it up.

Every major 2nd Amendment organization has been pounding on it. I have faxed and called my Senators and Representative about it, and have spoken to quite a few people about it.

The point is - this is just another attack on the US Constitution - as the ENTIRE agenda has been this Session of Congress.

We knew this type of assault was coming as soon as over 50% of Americans demonstrated their complete and utter ignorance of the Constitution and what is right for the US by casting a vote for Barrack Hussein Obama.

The REAL definition of an Assault Weapon - a liberal controlled Whitehouse and CONgress...

We will never know here in the US - Americans no longer have a real backbone (a generalization, you understand).

I think this bill is DOA.

The anti gunners are like weasels circling the hen house, always looking for a hole in the wire, the farmer leaving the gate ajar or an hen carelessly astray.

Assume always they are trying... because they are testing our resolve.

Can you please help me out? I can't find the parts with fingerprints and I don't think there's anything about inspecting private homes. As far as I can tell, they're only talking about gun dealers.

Am I missing something?

There are some western Democrats against it from what I have heard.

Most likely some southern ones too. But that will be more than balanced by the eastern and some far western RINOs who would vote for any gun control bill that comes up.

It's stuck in subcommittee with no cosponsors.

To say it's stuck implies more than may be the reality. It hasn' been acted upon by that subcommittee yet, but they've been busy mortgaging our grandkids and their kids. They'll get around to it.

However it's more likely that the language from this bill will be offered as an amendment to some other bill, said amendment agreed to at O-Dark-Thirty by acclamation or unanimous consent. Possibly by voice vote, followed by a quick "the ayes have it" and a fast gavel. Gun control bills and amendments have passed that way before. The '94 Assault Weapons Ban was an amendment to the Omnibus Crime Control Act. The Machine Gun ban was an amendment to the otherwise laudable Firearms Owners Protection Act of '86.

Military takeover saved Spain from the Communist in 1936..

Similarly, military takeover periodically saves Turkey from the Islamists. Turkey's constitution mandates a secular government. Their officers, like ours, are sworn to uphold that Constitution. They do, as required. (It's getting to be time again, BTW)

“I can’t find the parts with fingerprints”

SEC. 102. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS.

(a) In General- In order to be issued a firearm license under this title, an individual shall submit to the Attorney General (in accordance with the regulations promulgated under subsection (b)) an application, which shall include—

(1) a current, passport-sized photograph of the applicant that provides a clear, accurate likeness of the applicant;

(2) the name, address, and date and place of birth of the applicant;

(3) any other name that the applicant has ever used or by which the applicant has ever been known;

(4) a clear thumb print of the applicant, which shall be made when, and in the presence of the entity to whom, the application is submitted;

“I don’t think there’s anything about inspecting private homes”

It may be implied by the “safe storage” requirements. How can they know if you are storing your guns safely if they never come in and have a look? although section 403 is (probably) purposefully, since it rather just firearms business premisis they say:

the Attorney General may, during regular business hours, enter any place in which firearms or firearm products are manufactured, stored, or held, for distribution in commerce, and inspect those areas where the products are so manufactured, stored, or held.

Considering that these folks think growing grain to feed your own livestock is “interstate commerce”, they’d probably find that any gun stored or held is stored for “distribution in commerce”. After all, if you keep it, you are affecting interstate commerce by not participating in it, at least as much as you would if you sold it, and thus are affecting that commerce. Now I know that doesn’t make sense, but that is the point, it doesn’t have to if the courts will allow it as a justification.

You are absolutely right, they are testing their limits... these days when they show you one hand, look instead at the other hand.

Stay alert and join the GOA, NRA and your State/Local Gun Rights Group, if you have not already.

Make sure you bring family and friends up to speed on these types of legislative moves.

The last time I looked, it didn't have one sponsor.

That's not to say that we should quit watching it, though.
