Until people are willing to acknowledge the profound good President Bush did for this nation, this country is going to continue to flounder.

Bush hate is shutting down the critical thinking of of this country.

First, is the “barf alert” a foregone conclusion or was it just overlooked ?

Second, when the “mushy middle” becomes the “sensible center” we have submitted totally to Orwellian “logic”.

Third, the fact that principles don’t change should not be seen as “damaging the brand” any more that the laws of gravity should be taken as evidence of God’s stubborn nature rather than proof of His love for us.

Bush Pros:

Patraeus/Surge--2nd term War on terror
Tax cuts
Roberts and Alito

Bush cons:

Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz--first term of war on terror
Tax cuts have an expiration date
Harriet Miers--tragedy narrowly averted
Medicare expansion
No child left behind
Poor communication/unable to inspire confidence
Not prepared for banking meltdown

I recognize and approve of President Bush’s good work in the War on Terror but was not a financial conservative and his economic policies were obviously a disaster, not as bad as bo and the dumb demos & the rinos, but a DISASTER, nonetheless.

We need a simple plan for business...real business not Wall Street. One year depreciation on capital expenditures up to 5,000,000. Tax credit not deductions of 50% for all new hires the first 2 years. Make it renewable so folks think they need to invest or lose it.

I would load up knowing I could take the risks I am not taking now. You want jobs boom! Who would pass on a 50% discount on new hires?

Add a public spending program only because it is not a total waste of money and will put the left to work too.

And cut the sh@# out of pork. Drop your earmarks boys. Clean bills!!!!!!!

Simple balanced and promotes investments. No investment no savings. How bout a little leadership! Get some real business folks on TV too. We dont need Warren Buffet. How bout businesses 5 million to 200 million and privately held
ones the could articulate what OBAMA means to their business> Psst this is a tax cut don't tell anyone!

LOL

You're right. Even most of the “spending” that Conservatives disliked wasn't his doing when Congress went Democrat in 2006. Before that you had (2001) 911 and the need for massive spending on Iraq (2003) both to help them and retool our armed forces.

Bush was a good President, one that acted on what he knew was the “hard right” vs. the popularist answer, such as closing GITMO which will cause all sort of problems down the road but sounded nice on the campaign trail. It was Bush that faced an unprecedented attack, a war, and an economy sent into an instant tail spin in 2001. There is a reason why every time Obama opens his mouth the economy sinks. They don't like what they hear.

(IMHO)

1. Republicans should not care what Democrats say or think of them. Don't be afraid to attack them. Stand your ground. Stop eating your own, example Tom Delay, distancing oneself from Rush, etc. Rush said NOTHING wrong. Everything he said was on message and correct, and yet many are running away distancing themselves from him, why? Wimps! The Republicans really are a bunch of wimps! It is almost as if the Republicans allow themselves to be defined by the Democrats.

2. Republicans should not stray from their message nor core principals, but try harder to sell their message. Use the Internet better, target minorities, women, etc. The real reason the Democrats won the way they did is because most people vote straight ticket and because Obama was a rock star he pulled all these other Democrats with him. They were riding on his coat train. The victory was hardly as decisive or impressive as many on the left like to think, especially considering the disparity in campaign money, war, economy, uninspiring McCain, and Bush who while making good decisions was a poor public speaker and hardly any help in 2008. DO NOT move to the left in message. The leftist will vote left no matter how much a Republican panders, but you will loose your base by alienating the Evangelicals, the free market capitalists, etc. Stay on message and let the hype of the first black president fizzle while the economy falters every time he opens his mouth, he makes foreign policy blunders, etc. In one year things will look different.

3. Republicans should not fall to the level of the Democrats and play opposition politics jeopardizing national security or the best interests of our nation. DO NOT play the Democrat game where they were willing to sacrifice the mission in Iraq for example just to play politics. In 2004 during the Presidential campaign, a party that had voted for the war in 2002/03 decided to go against it because they saw this to their political advantage. From that point on, the party was almost unified in undermining the effort in Iraq with doom, gloom and quagmire speeches. Always keep the best interests of this nation in mind even when fighting the political battles and do not let what's perceived as politically advantageous trump the best interests of the nation.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas: “I welcome President-elect Obama’s commitment to reform the federal budget process and rein in wasteful government spending.”

That is all I need to know about the rino Cornyn. The election of bo by a coalition of dumb demos and rino like Cornyn is the worst thing that has ever happened to this Nation.

I agree, although I did not agree with him on the amnesty thing, the things I saw that he did wrong were these:

1. Allowed himself to be blackmailed into signing bills filled with pork because the alternative would have been our military doing without or pulling out of Iraq. So I can’t fault him there. The Democrats are plain evil they will answer for this, if not in this life the next.

2. conservatives are not loyal or forgiving, they are issue oriented and do not make nice when their guy does something they don’t like. This left Bush with very little support. He was too conservative for the Rinos, and too liberal for the conservatives on some core issues.

3. He was Naive enough to think that Americans are good people who can see through the trash on television and the hate spewed from the left.

It became almost as fashionable to publicly blame Bush for anything and everything and he had no one going out there and telling the real story and most people started to assume it was true. On top of that no Republicans were sticking up for him and he is too humble to do it himself.

In the end our strengths are our weakenesses when taken to an excess. His humbleness made him a great man with dignity, his humbleness left him vulnerable to the wicked left.

We will find out in years to come if Obama staff doesn’t destroy the records that he kept us safe and the reason we didn’t know about it when it happened is because it would have put us at risk. He was willing to destroy his own legacy to save American Lifes.

Fyi, bo’s ELECTION was approved of and CERTIFIED by saxby chambliss. juan mccain, Lindsay Grahmnesty, Kyl, Specter, Snowe, Collins et al.

Those RINOS are ABSOLUTELY DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the ELECTION of bo.
