Madoff Signals Possible Guilty Plea

Disgraced financier Bernard Madoff appeared to be moving closer to a guilty plea, waiving his right to have a grand jury review the allegations against him, people involved in the case say.

Prosecutors are expected to file additional charges against Mr. Madoff next week in connection with an alleged multibillion fraud, these people say. Mr. Madoff could plead guilty at an arraignment hearing set for Thursday, or he could deny the charges at that time and seek a jury trial.

Madoff's attorney, Daniel Horwitz, declined to comment on his client's intentions, other than to say: "We've waived indictment and the

The whole end game for Bernie now is to keep his wife Ruth knee deep in jewels, furs, Caribbean vacations, plastic surgery, fine wine, and lunches in midtown.

He is going to prison for the rest of life, no matter what, he he knows it. The Feds are foolish to offer him any "deal" that allows Ruth (who is a co-conspirator to this scheme) get away Scott free. She even lobbied new investors to give them their money (knowing full well it was going down a black hole) and pressured charity groups to do the same.

Ruth wants her fair share. Then, she can give more money to Democrats over the years with what is left over. Chuck Schumer needs another pile of their money.

Sentence them both to cleaning toilets with a toothbrush in a mental hospital for the rest of their days.

And tell them to bring their own toothbrushes to use.

He didn’t make a trade in 12 years. If anyone thinks his family or workers on the 17th floor were not in on the scam,
I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. The whole lot should be thrown in jail to rot!

The question is, will Madoff spill the beans on all others in this scam (family and cohorts in Florida), including traders & bankers which were obviously involved since he required assisted in a numbers of ways. What about the possibility of paid off government agency heads to look the other way all these years.

Uncle Bernie, where are all the billions?

maddoff not going to tell the full truth, even after the plea. Why I know? Even after getting caught. His wife withdraw millions days before madoff got caught, and even tried to send millions in jewellery to friends.

they’re still in self protect mode

I believe your overview is correct. There are those which don’t want him talking.

Guiltier than a middle-aged naughty schoolteacher! They’ve got him so dead to rights that I don’t understand what they can give him in exchange for his plea. Even if he rolls on those who helped him, he’s the kingpin, and has to go away for a term which, at his age, is basically a life sentence.

No, that's why he's going to get the deal - his family keeps the money if he keeps his mouth shut about everyone else.

Of what value would that be, other than satisfying our curiosity on who were his co-conspiratores?

I can't imagine that throughout these many years and billions of dollars going through his multiple business entities that some banking or securities auditors or oversight agency didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. If they truly didn't then their existence is not justified and they should be closed down and all employees terminated without any accrued benefits and no access to other government jobs.

If they did notice wrongdoing, which is the more likely case, and either just turned a blind eye or engaged in ongoing cover up, then they should be prosecuted before Madoff.

The unfortunate reality is that every single government crook will skate because of their civil servant or other government immunity and their wrongdoing will be written off as an oversight or "honest mistake" which they are allowed to make.

The privilege of engaging in criminal activity under the law must be revoked at all levels!!!
