I once worked for Monsanto, but I honestly don't know what to make of this.

What a bunch of Bull Punky.

Anyone who wants to save seed from one year to the next simply purchases Non-Patented seed. They can save seed from this seedstock into infinity.

I am not a big fan of Monsanto. But neither am I a fan of those who want to hijack technology someone else has paid for, without paying a user fee.

I've learned a lot about Monsanto's dirty dealings over the last 2 years.

I listen to the Derry Brownfield Show every weekday.

It is a great show. He got screwed over by Monsanto last year when he said something on his show that they didn't like and forced the radio network Learfield - which he helped create - to fire him. Just do a search if you want to find out more on that.

Anyways he quickly got back on air and says exactly what he wants about them and others.

This show from last July is one of the shows dealing with Monsanto.

Can listen to older shows by looking at past shows and Podcast/Mp3.

If anyone wants to listen to his show but don't have a station in their area I know you can listen online on KSMO. Look under the Listen Options link for others on Derry's site.

His show airs M-F at 10-11am CT time.

This is damned ominous. Too bad that A. Pole isn’t still on FR, as he’d have plenty of memorable things to say about this.

Let's be honest here, you and I both know that this website is dedicated to banning GM crops and is heavily supported by Greenpeace and the other wacky far leftie groups that hate Monsanto.

Gardening PING.........

I was discussing something along the lines with someone earlier today, and this is definitely something any gardener/farmer of any stripe needs to keep an eye on.

I’m not real familiar with the 2 pieces of legislation that Smokin’ Joe links in his post #5 on this thread, but I have started reading. I long ago learned not to blow off out of hand anything posted by either Smokin’ Joe or Calpernia, and both are extremely well informed on this particular topic.

Surely these guys can be nailed for letting their pollen contaminate my field. How they are getting a judgement for freely not controlling their property then tresspassing on yours to claim you stole it?

Somewhere there has to be a lawsuit by Monsanto suing somebody because somebody let their pollen drift on Monsanto land. Or for that matter, I’d countersue them for saying they stole my genes because they are in their corn.

Buy heirloom seeds, grow them, trade with others and/or just store them for the future. This stealth war on the food supply is no joke.

Another article from Down Under that doesn't look like it comes from eco-freaks.

TWO North American Farmers are touring Australia to warn about their experiences with genetically modified (GM) food crops.

Cost of seeding one acre of Monsanto corn = $31.00 (37,000 seeds)

Average yield of 150 bushels/acre = $450.00 at 3.00/Bushel

Cost is not the issue. Anti GM politics is.

Listening to Glenn Beck and James Rollins (new book “The Doomsday Key”) talk about Bush’s Order 81 that all Iraqi wheat must be “terminator seeds.”
