She has established herself as the First Lady of fashion and has graced the cover of Vogue.
But long before arriving at the White House Michelle Obama was already putting on the style.
In a shimmering low-cut silk dress slashed to the thigh, the then 18-year-old Michelle Robinson posed with her first boyfriend at the High School Prom.
High school sweethearts: First Lady Michelle Obama with David
Upchurch before the 1984 Whitney M Young High School prom in
Chicago, Illinois
More than a quarter of a century since that night, David Upchurch still has fond memories of escorting Michelle to the dance at the Whitney M Young High School in Chicago, which they both attended....
Her revealing dress choice...was perhapsan indication that she would always stand out.
Over 25 years since that night Upchurch still has fond memories of escorting Michelle to the dance....
Darling of the dance floor: Barack Obama takes Michelle, now his
wife of 17 years, for a spin at one of the 10 balls they
visited on inauguration night
He's still got the moustache:
David Upchurch outside his
home in Colorado Springs.
'Barack Obama's a lucky man,' he said
David said:...junior year, we began dating and continued to date for a year-and-a-half.'
He says he can't even remember if he received a goodnight kiss after the prom.
The romance ended when Michelle went off to Princeton to study sociology.
...David, a customer sales rep, has only fond memories of his time with Michelle....
'...she has always been a wonderful person,' he said....

At least we never had any doubts with Slick Willie.
She has established herself as the First Lady of fashion and has graced the cover of Vogue.
Hildy, this isn’t about Freepers, for Pete’s sake!
I think I have my prom photo on a 35mm slide somewhere, and my uncle took it, he was amateur but competent. The lighting made my ex look like Hispanic which was odd because his skin was nowhere near that dark (nothing against Hispanics and their skin tones vary), and I look my usual with very light skin tones. I've got better photos of when I was younger, but sure look old now.
So don't feel bad about it. If you don't think about it, other people respond to you positively in the real world if you act nice and are upbeat. I don't think others see us as we do. Maybe worse. Gulp.
Ahh... old prom pics... She looks happy. He doesn’t!
True. I never had doubts because I never gave it a thought about early romances until the Monica thing and then all the other that was in the news, but that was far from romantic. I wonder now if he had a hs sweetheart; am guessing he was like a tomcat, lots of guys are like that, some only when young, some don't get interested in girls until late teens, twenties, and don't stick to just one until later or never.
1984? She was born in 1964. She’s 20 in high school?
I’ll say this much, for all the fawning attention she gets from Vogue and the rest of the media, she doesn’t have one tenth Laura Bush’s grace, class, style and looks.
The guy who took me out to my Senior prom wore something similar, except it didn’t have the dark blue in it.
She is rather plain-looking in that picture.
Too early for halloween. That’s just wrong.
Yes.
Looks like the Black Queen has had LIPosuction..
Nice eyes, but that hairdo!
Isnt that Lamont, Sandfords son?
In today’s picture he looks like Cleveland from “Family Guy.”
I kinda thought he looks like Issac from the Love Boat.
Bump! This kinda crap is so DU or Kos.
I intend to take the high road. I will ignore this spectacle and, instead, choose to treat it in the same way the MSM would treat similar photos of Laura Bush. What, your all going to make fun of her prom picture?

>So, How would they treat a similar photo of Laura Bush?

Just Damn!
