President Obama traveled to Columbus, Ohio, on Friday to hail the swearing-in of 25 new police officers who had been told after their training that the city did not have enough money to hire them.

I heard on the radio this morning that the money provided was enough to pay the new officer's salaries for one year.

So, where will these officers work next year?

The city is hoping that attrition will cover it. It might. The force has about 1800 officers. Not hard to see 25 retirements on the horizon.

Nothing obama is doing will help the real economy, it will only destroy it. How could this idiot think that taxing to make jobs paid with taxes helps this country? He’s a complete idiot and will ruin this country. The time will come when there will be a revolt.

Oh that’s a good one.

They were talking about this on our local talk station. When they got to the clips of his speech I had to turn it off. What a windbag. This is actually getting embarrassing.

From: http://www.city-data.com/city/Columbus-Ohio.html . Population in July 2007: 747,755. Population change since 2000: +4.4%

Awesome. 25 new cops, three eight hour shifts for the weekdays, another for the weekend. Six new cops per shift on the streets in a city of 3/4 million. Good job n0bama. /loser

..highway project in Maryland....
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Heard one of the ‘laborers??’ being interviewed on local radio and he THANKED Obama and the stimulus package, saying he has been laid off for about 4 months and this put them back to work again....
I don’t imagine the being laid off for 4 months has anything to do with the majority of the Asphalt Companies traditionally SHUT DOWN for the ‘winter months’.
This is along the line of the interviews with the store clerks the weekend after Christmas lamenting their probable lay off due to GW....
Uh..Isn’t it also traditional for stores to ‘beef up’ over the holidays and it is (or was) well known that it was a temporary job.....
Jeeeez the clowns can sure twist words around....

So that will result in a net gain of zero. Gee, that helps a lot. They sink a pile of federal money into the police department and the city end up with the same number of cops that they started with.
