Troops coming to border war

Heeding the advice of Gen. David Petraeus, Barack Obama has committed 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan and will keep 50,000 in Iraq after U.S. combat operations end in August 2010.

But are U.S. vital interests more threatened by what happens in Anbar or Helmand than in the war raging along our southern border?

Prediction: After all U.S. troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Korea have come home, there will be a U.S. army on the Mexican border. For this is where the fate of our republic will be decided, as the fate of Europe will be decided by the millions streaming north from the Maghreb and Middle East, sub-Sahara and South Asia.

Last year, 6,000 Mexicans died in drug-related killings in a war where the tactics are massacre, murder, kidnapping and beheading.

President Felipe Calderon has ordered another 5,000 troops and 1,000 police to the border. Primary target: Ciudad Juarez, across the Rio Grande from El Paso.

It is getting worse here in El Paso, It's a good thing we now have an Armored Division here. We may need them. I have never felt the need to own a firearm, but tomorrow I will be getting one.

You may need them, but they won't get the orders. The only time the pols even think of this issue, it's to priss for the press. The strategy is the same as Microsoft's with competitors: embrace and extend [then destroy].

Sorry, but the Texas National Guard and civilian militias are the only barrier between El Paso and Juarez chaos.

2nd Amendment Rights.

Buy guns and ammo. And we’ll probably need bullet proof vests and helmets, too.

You may need air support first. I know there are AC-130’s that are not overseas. Special Forces operates them. The Mexicans can just set a trap south of Juarez. Just patrol the border there with one or two. They won’t be engaged.

Buy guns and ammo Texas. Obama won’t commit troops to our border to protect us from a Mexico collapse (which will happen). It’s going to up to the Texas National Guard, Militia, and any regular Military that join in off orders.

Forget New Mexico and So Cal. So Cal is already lost and New Mexico won’t help. Arizona is still up in the air I think, but probably lost.

It’s about time we militarized our borders. There are not enough border patrol agents to do the job alone. We need the wall funded and built and then patrolled by both border control agents and the military within each border state.

Whether you "felt" the need or not...you have always had the right to own one...and history dictates that it would have always been prudent to also own one.
