Not a bolt-action, a Bushmaster AR-15 type. Illegal in his home state (no new assault weapons after a certain date) and also in MA without a permit (though he was just passing through). In MA he’s to young to posess a high-capacity firearm.
The Bushmaster had a pistol grip! We are dooomed! And a night scope! That probably frightened the cops. $100,000 bail?
It’s not an arsenal, but the reporter is from a state where hoplophobia and ignorance are required if you are to be a journalist.
# A Bushmaster rifle with a night
scope and pistol grip.
# Two high capacity ammunition magazines.
# A Remington 12-gauge shotgun with additional ammo.
# Five knives
# Brass knuckles
# A bulletproof vest with an armor plate.
Beat me with the “pistol grip” observation by 1 second...I hope you’re happy!
Looks like the AR might be a post-ban version which is legal in CT. Also the mags could be pre-bans, also legal. Even the evil 50 cal round is just a key chain. Course the reporter would never think to point that out. Best part is the catch all “appeared evasive” and gun case reason to detain the kid, search him and the vehicle.
I fully support the Second Amendment...but I just have to ask— what sort of wedding was he going to that he thought he needed this for? I have been to many a redneck wedding and even a couple of “shotgun” weddings but never one that a guest would feel the need for all this.
That’s an...interesting...mix of weapons.
Armor plate? As in rifle plates for a Class III vest?
NVD?
I don’t see any problems with owning any of that.
But I do want to know why he’d have all that, and just that, in a vehicle, in a state where much of it is felony possession.
I’m going to withhold judgement on this one, till we get some more information.
