I'll bet there's a lot of truth to this. Bet she had an "oh, $h!t" moment. Something along the lines of "what do you mean I'm supposed to have a gift for his wife and kids? quick get something from the gift shop."

You can buy your way into the White House as Soros did putting in his little Barak and wifey, but you can’t buy class or taste or anything else requiring effort.
Well, we just have to put up with President Barak O’Nixon and his wife, Tacky M, for less than four years.
I believe that is a packaged set- I’ll start looking at DDDVD for it. I expect that someone will have “My Parents visited the President and all I got was this crappy toy helicopter” t-shirt for sale on CafePress before long...
When I first got into DVDs a few years ago, I purchased a 50 Movie Pack by this company of Mystery Classics. There were some good choices on there, but some real duds as well. Worst of all, it looks like the movies may be public domain, and the source material has not been remastered. The film sources are shaky and certainly have not been cleaned. Thus the price...18 cents a film. An iffy gift at the office grab bag, much less for a world leader!
And considering the thought that seems to have gone into the gifts Brown brought to Obama, “diplomatic insult” is not too strong of a phrase. This story is Onion or Scrappleface material...but it is true. How sad for our nation.

John Brown is about 3, and his brother James is a 1-year-old baby. They are both too young for model airplanes, which were probably selected by a staffer anyway.

You just know this DVD set was just an unopened gift from some friend or something that got regifted.
They just put that in there to keep from getting Michelle pee'd off.
She thought they just mis-spelled "sophisticate".
