Frederick To Stay and Fight for RPV Post
Virginia Virtucon ^ | 3/5/2009 | Riley

Posted on 03/05/2009 9:39:37 AM PST by ReagansRaiders

Sources tell Virginia Virtucon that RPV Chairman Del. Jeff Frederick will NOT resign from his post and will stay and fight the attempt to remove him. A vote to remove Jeff is now scheduled for April 3. While the 3/4 majority of State Central Committee members necessary to remove a chairman have signed on to the letter, which is said to include ten allegations against Frederick, Jeff is currently working on peeling away support for the letter.

Well with this kind of infighting, Virginia is going to be blue through the next election cycle as well. Oh joy!

I moved out of VA a few years back so I haven’t been in the loop for state-level politics. WTF is going on in my old state? They need to be concentrating on the spring nomination processes and this November’s elections, not underminding the chairman. The Dems have to be laughing their a$$es off over this.

The Dems have to be laughing their a$$es off over this.

Indeed they are. In a year where the top three races should be the Republicans to win.

Frederick was brought in to captain an already sinking ship. You can't honestly blame him for Gilmore's loss (that is Gilmore's alone). At the same time Jeff hasn't done himself any favors.

Virginia amazes me, it should be solidly conservative, but as much as anywhere else in the United States it graphically demonstrates the utter failure of the supposedly more conservative party of self-reliance to present its case.

To be sure there are large numbers of government dependent sycophants around DC; but given its size, resources, and population beyond that black hole, and given its charter as the very foundation of the wisdom of independence, Jefferson, Lee, etc., and given its southeastern position, maybe the only region left in the US with the founding philosophy, what in hell is going on?

To me it is the absolute failure of the ability to present the ideology, and ramifications, of freedom, and the human dignity of responsibility.

My congress(wo)man was Thelma Drake. She may have voted solidly conservative, I don't follow such things that closely. But the message to the constituency was abysmal, that is, just more Democrat lite - "we're for the children, we're for the old people, we're for education, etc.etc."

It's like the Republicans have NOTHING to say, except what the Left already says; when in fact the message they should be saying is the very basis of the United States in the first place: Freedom is our responsibility, our courage, our initiative, our industry, our self honesty.

But NOOOO the "people" are too dense, too dependent, and too demoralized to be presented with that.

So Virginia you have forfeited your reason for being. Go suck up to Tim Kaine and join your leftist brothers in New York. Maybe those of us with insight can find some principles left in Nova Scotia. Although, admittedly, the windows of consciousness seem to be closing everywhere.

I already did. I didn’t file to be a convention delegate. My heart’s just not in it.

I’m not giving up (yet) on all of our candidates. But I have little hope for the party structure.

Honestly, I gave up when the porkulus bill passed. I wrote emails, etc. Obviously, to no avail. When it passed, I told several friends that I’m glad I don’t have children. This country is no longer the America I grew up in. There is no longer any beacon of freedom and liberty left in the world. We’re France now and it sucks.

Yeah, it is. I get knots in my stomach when I think about it too much.

Gilmore never had a prayer. He was the party’s sacrificial lamb.

I am so out of the loop ... what has Frederick done or not done?

I think the bottom line is that Frederick just hasn’t inspired anyone to believe he was up to the task.

He got flak for repeating one of Rush’s jokes (fine for Rush, not the party leader), he got caught up in a mistweet over a supposed power sharing deal that never took place (and likely wasn’t going to take place), he kinda looked foolish making an anti-Darwin speech on the House floor. There are other concerns that I don’t have the details of. Supposely there’s a list.

My biggest concern is not Frederick, but how this whole process makes the party look...again...

Thanks for the info. Who’s heading up the cabal to take him down? Does anyone else with ‘gravitas’ want the job? The GOP is such a bunch of cannibals.

what has Frederick done or not done?

That is precisely what I was about to ask.
I was a delegate at the convention last May and there was a lot of excitement about Jeff. I think he won by such a wide margin, Hagar simply conceded without announcing the tally.

He is young and vivacious and had many wonderful ideas -- definitely not one of the elites. What in the world happened? Nothing Corin mentioned seems likely to take him down.

Perhaps EDINVA is on the right track with this comment;
Who’s heading up the cabal to take him down?

“There’s more.”

There always is!!! Intra-Partisan politics is nearly as dirty and convoluted as church politics ;)
