Saw that. Good for her. :)
Well, dammit. I really respected Benicio Del Toro’s work.
Screw it, this time. Fenster and Dr. Gonzo were too cool for me not to like.
I take it I’m not the only one who liked that movie.
Oh dear, he was so good in the Movie: Traffic, Benicio just stick to acting please./Just Asking - seoul62.......
Both. He was also great in Traffic
I hate it when a talented actor I like turns out to be a twit.
‘The Usual Suspects’ was a steaming pile of nothing!
Didn’t like being tricked?
The trick cast nothing significant on the rest of the proceedings. The whole thing was a witless ride around the block.
OMG! I loved “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” I laughed my head off.
I adore that movie. It’s one of the few book-to-movies I actually like as well as the book, mostly because I think Terry Gilliam took some kind of blood oath to Hunter Thompson to make it as true to the story (and devilishly trippy) as possible.
It told you everything you just saw didn't happen due to the literary use of unreliable witness. It also put the Kevin Spacey character in a completely different light, from the poor victim you've been watching for over an hour to criminal mastermind. It was brilliant.
So 90 minutes of nonsense is OK because you’re told at the end it didn’t happen? There was nothing terribly interesting about Spacey’s character to begin with to make him any more interesting after finding out who he was. In Fight Club the twist at the end truly turns it into a different film with different themes. Here there’s no reason to ever watch it again. The use of the unreliable narrator is a lot more complex than what they did.
It was a decent crook flick up until the end, which made it an exceptional crook flick. But you're right on not watching it again. It's only an average story the second time around (although some of the acting is exceptional), and Fight Club is still as good every time.
At least it's not Sixth Sense, which is simply not worth watching more than once for any reason.
