Let me alter the premise of your question just a wee bit.
I am a citizen of the United States who is frightened and appalled at the assault on capitalism and freedom launched by Barack Obama. I happen to have a microphone and I happened to accept an invitation to speak before a large group of patriotic conservatives last weekend. I am sounding a warning, raising red flags in hopes other citizens will wake up and realize what is happening to their country.
I am the most prominent national figure actually tying Barack Obama to his polices. The Republican Party is afraid to do so because they follow polls and his approvals are around 59% right now. The White House is trying in every way possible to say I am the leader of the GOP because they are trying to marginalize me. In truth, they are elevating me, growing my audience and enabling me to get my message out to an even wider audience than my 20-22 million radio audience.
The Republican Party and the conservative movement are two different things. I have nothing to do with the party. But I am a conservative and I fervently believe in the principles of our nations founding, which are under assault from Barack Obama and the Democrat party. I oppose Obama and his policies because I want America to succeed. And I am saying so.
Clearly, the GOP has no "leader" right now and they wont until a viable presidential candidate surfaces. I have no idea who that will be. But I do know that we have a blueprint for landslide electoral success. Reaganism. We tried it the way our "moderates" demanded: John McCain. They got the candidate and the campaign they wanted. And we got creamed. So it is time for the party to realize that if they want to win elections it cannot be accomplished with Democrat-Lite.
This country has been so good to me. My life is beyond my parents wildest dreams. I wish everyone could experience it the success Ive had. I am taking the positions I am because I want everyone to have the same opportunities for success Ive had. Obama is not the way. We are.

Every word he says just leaves less doubt- Rush is the future of the Republican party.
C’mon, Rush. Don’t look for the light- you’re it.

Is it just me or did Rush just tear the RINOs a new one?

Rush is “the MAN”, and he has said numerous times, he wants no part of being a candidate. No way no how. Nor does he need to be. His role is exactly what he is doing. and His message, as always, is spot on.

Rush is as honest an intellectual I have ever observed. He says it the way it is and never claims something he is not but instead eschews what he does not want and makes that known to the public. Rush can do no more to make his position clear execpt to keep repeating it to attract new converts to the conservative movement.

Cmon, Rush. Dont look for the light- youre it.And why would he want that job?
More grief, much less money, less exposure, less free time, more constraints, more responsibility.
There's no upside for him.
He's much better positioned, and influential, where he is.

Why would anyone want to be the President of the United States these days? Obama has convinced me that just anyone can do that. It's not a special position anymore. (except for ones ego)

Where you see Rush think Fr. Coughlin. I've heard the comparison of Rush to Father Coughlin pretty often. Of course, like so many other things, the actual facts eventually get out. It turns out Coughlin WAS A LEFTY, who criticized FDR for not moving left fast enough.
History, real history, just sucks if you're a liberal.

I agree that Rush is the voice of conservatism but unfortunately wont be the candidate. So who? By your tagline, I see that Duncan Hunter would fit the bill for you. While I would agree with this, I dont see a large enough core segment of voters out there to rally around him as the candidate. Unfortunately, were in an American Idol culture. The conservative message is unchangeable but how its presented and by whom (how they look and speak unfortunately) is as important as the message.
Treading carefully (no offense intended), I would suggest that no one from the 2008 primary should be in the contest (full disclosure, I was a FRedhead and include him as not invited). If they couldnt beat McCain, they dont inspire enough of the base. Names that come to mind as potentials for me (yes, they all have flaws) Santorum, Pence, Barbour, Palin, Jindal, Sanford
Other names, reaction?

Rush Limbaugh's ideas are good for the country. Rush himself would be a terrible candidate.
He would be a terrible candidate. But he could be the catalyst who starts an alternative, conservative party that leaves the moderates poisoning the GOP in the dust.
If he started it, I would join in a heartbeat.

Good for Rush. He has a foundation of principals and devotes everyday living up to them. He also has a talent for expressing his ideas as well as many others in this nation. Each and every person plays a part in our America and broadcast is Rush's part. He does an excellent job of conveying his thoughts which coincide with my thoughts and beliefs. I on the other hand do not have that ability but have other skills which allow me to make a living.
Rush makes his living using the first amendment yet he is vilified by the same filthy crew that make their living under the same first amendment. Hypocrisy at the highest level. He is so disliked because the truth is extremely powerful. Keep it up Rush.

Let's hope Zero thinks he is dealing with Fr. Coughlin. Please, let's hope so. What he is dealing with is much bigger than Fr Coughlin ever was.
