Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's president, has ordered the army to temporarily take control of the country's rice processing plants.
The move on Saturday comes as Chavez said that the businesses were not cooperating with price regulations.
"I have ordered the immediate intervention in all those sectors of agro-industry, intervention by the revolutionary government," Chavez said during a speech.
"This government is here to protect the people, not the bourgeoisie or the rich," he said.
The army has been ordered to intervene in all rice factories in the Latin American nation.

No doubt BO will have to send rice shipments to Venezuela next year so that his political mentor doesn’t look like a failure. It may make some of the smarter peasants in the USA who voted for Santa Obama a bit nervous if their counterparts in Venezuela are starving.

All fall down, like all state run ‘for the common good’ Communist political systems. Next, off to the gulags, then when they fill, they will need to dispose of the overflow.
Chavez is the Obamaloons template for America.

Sorry, but that headline caused an image of Venezuelan rice plants on the march a la the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and the "apple tree" scene from the Wizard of Oz to flash before my eyes.
Huggy Shovies just needs to stop. Really.

Well it won't be long before Americans will be asked to donate money to Venezuela starvation relief funds. I am sure Americans will be guilted into donating by Hollywood liberals by implying that our excesses is leading to starvation of the poor in this otherwise rich country.

This government is here to protect the people, not the bourgeoisie or the rich So the rich aren't people. Dehumanizing a group is the first step in persecution. It is the basis for selling all further persecution to the masses.
Time for the rich to leave, and see what happens to the country then. Being rich, they are de facto the ones who best know how to generate value and improve an economy.

Stalin ordered all the grain quota's filled too, and took every scrap of grain from every farmer. 10 million Ukrainians (many million more by other counts) starved to death.
I wonder how many Venezuelans are going to starve to death when the food processors are boarded up...

Another Cuba ... no hope in a nation leads to no food in that nation.
