I met up with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos at the National Capital chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals’ Annual Professional Night this evening and asked if he had strategy session conference calls with aides in the White House as reported by Politico’s John F. Harris.

Politico's Michael Calderone recently reported that Kerry Smith, ABC News Sr.VP for editorial quality, wrote that Stephanopoulos "speaks to Mr. Emanuel, a friend he has known for nearly two decades, as a source, just as he speaks to countless sources across the political spectrum each and every day. That is his job as an anchor and reporter and one that he does according to the highest standards."

Stephanopoulos seemed adamant that the conference calls between himself and White House aides have never happened. The video transcript of the exchange is below. Video

It must depend on how you define “conference call”. He doesn’t deny no calls, just no conference calls.

Oh of course he's truthful. He worked for that pinnacle of honesty, Bill Clinton!! Plus he's a "journalist" so, you know, he's not agenda driven in the least.

Check out the Clintonian dodges from Carville and Begala. They do NOT deny the allegation:

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Democratic strategist James Carville avoided saying Wednesday if he had been in contact with the White House over ongoing efforts to portray talk show host Rush Limbaugh as the leader of the Republican Party.

-snip-

UPDATE: Begala, asked in a separate interview whether he was coordinating an anti-Limbaugh strategy with the White House, said: "I don't take orders from anybody, except CNN. I don't work for any politicians. I work for the network."

"My strong suspicion is that the White House has bigger fish to fry," Begala told CNN.

The former Clinton administration official said he has "been speaking out against Rush Limbaugh for as long as I can remember."

"I do what I do out loud," he said. "I'm a cheerleader and not a drum major, so if I'm saying something and people repeat it, I think it's great."

Stephanopoulos is nothing but a Clinton-butt-boy-Democratic-hack, as are Begala, Carville, and Dee Dee Myers to name a few more, and all pretense that they are journalists is a pure sham. Anyone remember the catterwauling by the MSM when CBS wanted to hire former GOP Rep Molinaro for their Saturday morning fluff show? Yet Chris Mathews (Carter Admin vet), Bill Moyers (LBJ Admin) and even the late sainted Tim Russert (staffer to Tip O'Neill) we're supposed to take at face value as impartial.
