GOP Launches Counteroffensive to Rush Controversy

The Republican Party today has launched a counteroffensive to the controversial recent questioning over conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh’s "leadership" of the party -- describe it as a White House diversion attempt.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) issued a statement Wednesday which said called the controversy a White House “diversionary tactic” without mentioning Limbaugh by name.

“Political operatives in the White House are trying to divert attention away from the challenges facing our economy, the sinking stock market, and the irresponsible spending binge they are presiding over,” the statement read. “In the midst of a deepening recession, White House staff should have higher priorities than this cynical strategy.”

Boehner told reporters Wednesday, “The White House has created this big distraction…No one should be distracted right now.”

House Minority Whip Eric Cantor also looked to change the subject and criticized Mr. Obama for comparing the stock market to a tracking poll yesterday.

“It’s not a tracking poll. It’s real,” Cantor said today. “The stock market reflects real money, it reflects real loss.”

Obama is correct, it is a tracking poll tracking if capitalists agree with what he is doing.

I wanted John Boehner to get replaced. But after seeing what happened with Michael Steele, now I know...it could be worse!

So for now Goooo John Boehner.

Obama is merely a reflection of the Dumbasrat party.

It is a racist statement to say that Rush is the head of the Republican Party, when the leader is Michael Steele.

Can you imagine if we had all said that Reid was the leader of the Dimwit Party?

That "tracking poll" comment is a keeper.

A lot of Barry's rich friends are not going to like it. They are being hurt as well as the captains of industry and regular folks who have worked hard and made themselves a few bucks.

The Commie ‘RATS are trying to throw the spotlight on Rush to get the spotlight off of their Commie disaster which is the “worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.” This is going to blow up right in their Commie ‘RAT faces!

Obama is diminished by attacking Rush.
It is not Presidential.
This can only hurt Obama.

Cantor, I am really starting to like you.

Just remember how much affection people had for Lindseed Graham when he acted all tough during the Clinton Impeachment trial.

A waste of admiration now, eh?

Take a politician with a grain of salt.

There's a part of me that is saying the GOP politicians should stay out of this. Rush can take care of himself -- but the GOP politicians need to get their own house (no pun) in order.

It will be quite dissatisfactory if the GOP "rushes to Rush's aid" but continues to ignore its own lack of leadership, its abandonment of conservative principles (and embrace of big government), and culpability in the current fiscal mess.

Democraps want the GOP to denounce Rush. If they don't then the answer for the craps is "RUSH is the GOP".

All the GOP leadership has to say is "If Rush Limbaugh is against socialism, then I agree."

It isn’t a “Rush controversy,” it’s an effort to silence him.
