For the first five weeks of Barack Obamas presidency, congressional Republicans sought to avoid direct confrontation with the popular president. (See here.)
No longer.
At a meeting of the Republican conference this morning, House Minority Leader John Boehner said that his party has an obligation to challenge Obama in a clear, unambiguous manner.
There's no point in triangulation when it comes to this budget. It's the President's budget. His name is on it. It's a bad budget, and we have a responsibility to tell the country that. We can do it respectfully - but we can do it, and we must.

It’s the President’s budget. His name is on it. It’s a bad budget, (even though 40% of the pork was slipped in by Republicans) and we have a responsibility to tell the country that.
8 years and 3 months too damn late!

I have an idea.....lets criticize the President on the Internet, because it certainly will not be shown on Broadcast.
The Republicans sure must enjoy taking it on the chin though. At least they do not have glass jaws.

Wait..didn’t we elect them to oppose bad legislation that went against conservative values...and BTW, not keep their mouth shut. Rush is right. We have no leadership in Congress.
To: SonOfDarkSkies
I appreciate that Boehner, but it will pass. They won own.

Hey we need give him a little, he did rally the entire house to vote no on the stimy plan, (its at least a small shining moment)

Everyday people are critiquing the obozo admin from Day 1 and found it to be seriously lacking yet we have to pull our esteemed congressional reps heads out of their butts in order to wake them up and let them smell the manure. Good God! What’s wrong with this picture? We seriously need to replace our congressional representation if that be the case.
