Great point. Alinsky's tactics, like many on the left, count on the people remaining ignorant and not catching on to what is happening.
But those who DO watch and understand the symptoms can combat it much more effectively than the perp can carry it on.
Not at all. Alinsky's tactics count on the patience of those who practice them, and their ability to remain focused on the long-term goal. His approach is to gain control of the system, thereby to control the agenda. His approach also looks for advancement through incremental gains -- which is why patience and a long view are essential.
Keeping the voting public ignorant cerainly makes things easier ... but it's not essential to their approach.
But those who DO watch and understand the symptoms can combat it much more effectively than the perp can carry it on.
That's true -- but the problems we conservatives have include lack of patience, lack of a coherent long-term agenda, and a tendency to go for the Big Win which, even if we seem to achieve it, is never as permanent as we seem to think it is.
As things stand now, the left has largely achieved the Alinsky goal of gaining control of the process and agenda. And, fwiw, their span of control includes the news and entertainment media, which is far more important to their long-term aims than mere Washington politics.
