I have felt myself that a limited John Galt approach is the only way to stop this juggernaut. The problem is, they, like the FDR boosters, will never admit that excessive goverment action is prolonging the economic downturn. They will just say they didn’t do enough (always the liberal answer to failure of their agendas).

“A Lafayette, La., attorney told the reporter she was cutting back on her business to avoid the tax threshold: “Why kill yourself working if you're going to give it all away to people who aren't working as hard?” Tax hikes have consequences. Incentives matter. Only self-deluded wealth redistributors living in la-la land believe otherwise.”

an unintended consequence ... OBAMA might not expect .. the producers to lower greatly their producing.
It might throw a wrench in the works. Let's hoe so.
The tough part is the announced decision not to hire any new employees (a freeze is in place).

> a limited John Galt approach is the only way to stop this juggernaut Not limited, IMO, but other than that I agree with you.
Not only that, but I think that there is far more of this going on "below the radar" than any of us know about.

There’s going to be a thriving underground economy soon. When the network of non-governmental black-market doctors starts, I’ll be looking for one.

"There's only one monkey wrench that can stop the redistributionist thieves' engine. It's engraved with the word: Enough." Call me dubious. They will simply go from their "progressive" ideas to fascism. "Enough" is not going to be good enough for the control freak and his followers.

Not limited, IMO, but other than that I agree with you.By limited, I mean business owners will not move to a hidden settlement in Colorado and completely remove themselves from society.
But they will either cut back or refuse to take the steps to grow their businesses, and will pursue all methods to minimize their tax bill, even at the expense of reduced revenue.

ping to NJ FReepers. This is a good read — highly applicable in a higher-income but even-higher-taxed state like ours.

Collectivists have many creative ways of dealing with hoarders, wreckers, saboteurs, and others who display counter-revolutionary tendencies.
Well, gulags aren't really creative, but the fact is, thhis contingency has been planned for.

You may have to go to Mexico for that. If you can make it alive past the border.
