CNSNews.com) - Democratic senators told CNSNews.com on Tuesday that despite a recent study that shows global temperatures have been dropping since 2001 and that projects the globe will continue to cool for the next several decades, they think the United States should continue to push forward with aggressive action to curb climate change.

Two Republicans, however, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) warned that while some action is necessary, lawmakers must act in a deliberate and fiscally responsible manner.

“I think there is a bipartisan consensus in the Senate that the science is in,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, told CSNews.com when asked if the government should implement new policies to apparently combat global warming despite the new study. “This is a very real problem. Now the debate is on the remedies -- but the science is in.”

This global warming hysteric clings to his evil superstition like a drowning man to an anchor. Unfortunately, he'll do his best to take the rest of us down with him.

Good grief. How many more extreme cold days and massive snow storms do we need to have before these idiots conclude that man-made global warming is BS?

Note to the morons in our government:

You cannot curb something that we do not control.

I think that there is a scientific consensus that the Democrats are delusional and dangerous and dumb.

That won't stop them. There's plenty of good taxpayer money to be spent on this non-problem.

“Democratic senators told CNSNews.com that despite new studies and reports of variations in global temperatures, the federal government should move quickly to implement policies because they believe the debate over global warming is over.”

I’m going into overload. It may be time for me to take a vacation from FR!

I would challenge just one of these losers to stand up, hold up a folder three inches thick full of the data that disproves global warming scientifically, and throw down a challenge to each and every colleague to actually READ the data before they act on anything.

It is not about global warming.

It is about controlling the ignorant masses (you and me).

It is about more money for government.

The carbon tax will raise the cost of electricity dramatically.

On top of that, if you heat with oil or gas, you will pay a carbon tax based on quantity.

Then there will be a carbon tax added to your gasoline price.

And one added to the price of diesel, so the farmer will have to get more for his product, the trucker will get more with the result that the grocery store as well as all retail products will cost more.

I would guess that any item made from plastic or one of the synthetic fibers would also have a carbon tax.

We are ruled by idiots with an insatiable appetite for your and my money.

AGW is an immense scientific fraud. "Some action" is not only NOT neccessary but almost certainly will be damaging, at least economically. Atmospheric carbon is NOT a problem. It DOES NOT need to be "fixed".

True, true, absolutely true. My apologies for not pointing out that the motives behind this BS were actually sinister as opposed to being born of ignorance.

The senators are incapable of debating Daffy Duck.

America would be much better off if we had 535 Daffy Ducks rather than these bird-brains.

Congress is not interested in the relative merits of nuclear power or coal power. It may surprise some to learn that they are not all that interested in wind power or solar power, either.

They are only interested in one kind of power: Political Power.

All else is smoke and mirrors; artifice and disguise.

Correct Sen. Wyden . The problem is 'real' and the 'science is in'. Liberals are all mentally ill.

And if you want to debate remedies, I've got a million. All start with a padded cell, straight-jacket and high doses of Thorazine and Lithium.

The global warmists are not insane ... actually they are thinking very basically for mankind. Global Warming is not a fact any more than any other RELIGION is a fact. You cannot "prove" the premises of most religions ... this one is no different.

When people stop believing in God, they don't believe in nothing -- they believe in anything. G K Chesterton

Without a personal religion, man will invent one. And like all other religions, it will defy logic and definition. The global warmists are worshipping a new god. We are not up against insanity or politics, these people have adopted this as a religion ... that's why the normal logic (temperatures going down, most snow in years, etc) just proves that global warming is real.

This should be attacked as one would attack any religion gone astray. (Jim Jones, Muslim terrorists). The global warming movement will eventually be defeated by an EMOTION (not a logical argument) greater than itself, logic streams like rain off its back.

What makes this movement frightening is that it is being manipulated and used to drive us toward socialism. I believe the believers believe it ... but I believe the politians are using it for their own ends. Like the terrorists in the Muslim faith, these people have hijacked a religion.

It’s like saying if you are going to blow your foot off with a shot gun, use quality ammunition, a quality shotgun and use proper trigger squeeze and breathing.

“Certainly not President Obama’s cap and trade policy because I believe we should address climate change -- not trying to generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue,” McCain told CNSNews.com when asked if he though the country should move forward with expensive climate change action in the light of such studies.

This is really good news. Cap and trade is a bureaucratic scam. If there has to be anything, and this recession happens to need cheap energy to get back to a growing economy, IMHO, a direct tax is the way to go. At the least, then you can blame it on the government.

BTW, I'm a skeptic about AGW, and I don't want another tax. Another political fight is good news with rats supposedly controlling the government.
