Former professional football player and Blue Dog Democrat Heath Shuler is at the top of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “enemies list,’’ according to Politico.
Why? Shuler, D-N.C., has staked out a leadership position as a fiscal conservative who doesn’t ride with the pack on issues like the massive stimulus package, which he and five other conservative “Blue Dog” Democrats voted against. Shuler’s name tops a list of 10 alleged enemies of the speaker.

Shuler, a second-term member, is clearly being noticed among Pelosi’s allies as a potential problem. He opposed Democratic leaders when he was a freshman, including on a high-profile debate on immigration. He ruffled feathers last week, according to The Hill, when, in publicly objecting to abortion-related foreign-aid provisions in the omnibus spending bill, he twice referred to the “Democrat leadership” — omitting the “-ic” from word’s end and, in so doing, repeating a refrain used by Republicans to insult Democrats.

this could all be a ruse to make people think there is a problem in the party. Smoke and mirrors is what the dems are good at. Has Schuler been stripped of power or any committee membership positions? Let’s wait and see what happens to see if this is really an issue or just clever strategy.
Hell, ya gotta admire Pelosi for her dedication to her party. Not much can be said about Steele or any Repub Senator!

The US needs more representatives of the people in Congress.
Shuler always votes for her for Speaker. He votes her way more than 90% of the time.

I know old Heath a little bit from his time
spent in east Tennessee.
I would like to see him change parties, but I think
that perhaps he can do the most damage to the democrats,
as a democrat.
Don't you just love the way that they don't even acknowledge the proper name of their own party? I suppose that's because if you repeat the lie often enough, people might actually believe that the party is more Democratic than it is Despotic or Dictatorian.
i think repubs should hammer shuler and his ties to pelosi.
