President Obama, the merchandising phenomenon, has been a boon to sidewalk T-shirt vendors everywhere, the Washington Times reports.
Less conspicuous, perhaps, is the equally robust success of the children's book industry in marketing Obama's hopeful aura and personal history to parents of young children.
Are children's book publishers seeking to indoctrinate impressionable young readers -- or are they simply obeying the laws of supply and demand?
When the country elects a new president, publishers characteristically issue a biography or two geared toward young readers.
But in the case of Obama, publishers are tapping into unusual levels of excitement and curiosity.

Uhhhh, and they are finding their way to our elementary schools. Ive seen several already at this years bookfair. I go by and turn them around.
..GOOD LITTLE BROWNSHIRTS
My library has quite a few Obama books for kids. By bad luck, they all got mis-shelved over the weekend. It wouldn’t surprise me if that happened again ... every weekend if the staff notices and tries putting them back (unlikely, since they are in the economics section, sideways, behind other books).
LOL! I do the same thing at Border’s.
two comments here.
1. If these books are flying off the shelves, then it is a supply and demand thing. Capitalism is not idealism, it is supply and demand.
2. Just think of all the material there will be to burn in the streets when the masses don’t get what they want from their annointed one. Patience and doing without is not something his voters are used to dealing with. Should make for an interesting site when the tide starts going out on him......
Ha ha!
Perhaps the next time they get “misshelved” they can be found between Marx and Lenin.
Has someone come out with “Children’s Letters to Obama” yet?
I’ve noticed that pretty much every bookstore now has an “Obama Section”. And, yeah, the children’s book publishers are having a field day with idolatrous books about The One.
Print some good truthful infos and slip them into the books.
Are they just as phony as the coins they were selling with stickers on them?
I suspect these books are being purchased by every school district in the country.
In schools now a days you won’t be taught about Lincoln,, Washington or American history but you will have crap about martin luther king and jesse jackson forced in to your studies.
And I guarantee ya the liberal educators will make the magic negro look to be man kinds savior.
In reality he is a one worlder socialist piece of crap.
Nobody goes into the economics section nowadays.
you would be correct there. I know it has been hell in schools this year.
My kids play in the school band, and had to participate in the annual MLK jr parade. It was an ode to the one. Floats of MLK with BHO everywhere. Alot of them saying ‘the fufillment of the dream’ everywhere. One even with MLK passing the torch to BHO. It was uncomfortable to be there, but I try and go to support my kids. I was one of 3 white folks at the parade, and let me tell you the looks I got. Our school is pretty racially divided, but the parade was in the black area of town. They sure don’t make you feel welcomed when you go there.
Every paper on presidents day that came home was about BHO, from my sisters kids 2nd grade class all the way through my son’s 11th grade class. I am pretty sure those days were traditionally GW and Abe L. days, but to be fair, we do have 44 presidents total. Why not do a few?
Its ok, I see a huge spike in homeschooling, and cooperative schooling between homeschooling families. I also know that kids are speaking out about this. My 2 do all the time. I told them to go right ahead. If they get sent to the office, I will be there with a civil rights attorney so fast their heads will spin. Just waiting for it to happen. Stay strong folks, and lets try real hard not to let Eric Holder down, don’t be a coward about race in this country!!
“Mommy, why can’t we go on vacation this year?” “Because of this asshole, honey. He’s our president, and he takes our money so that Ms. Wilkenson down the street can feed her eight bastard children and maintain her heroin habit.” “Obama sucks, mommy!” “He sure does.”
Do the children’s books about Dear Leader show himleading a charge on “Mount Capitolism” wearing a beret and smoking an English “fag” as the Brits call cigarettes?
I am reminded of James Clavell’s “A Children’s Story”, where the entire grade-school class gets indoctrinated to pray to Our Leader in 23 minutes.
Obamajungen.
They’re here, they’re now, they’re getting better organized with each passing week, and they have the full resources of a nation-state behind them.
