Obama's Iran Crisis: It's arriving faster than he seems to think.
WSJ ^ | March 2, 2009

As a Presidential candidate, Barack Obama called a nuclear Iran "a grave threat" and insisted "the world must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon." But he also called for direct, high-level talks in the hopes that the mullahs could be persuaded to abandon their nuclear dreams.

We've never held out much hope for those talks, which would inevitably be complicated and protracted. Now it turns out that the rate at which Iran's nuclear programs are advancing may render even negotiations moot.

That's one conclusion to be drawn from the latest report by the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency. Among other disclosures, the IAEA found that Iran has produced more than 1,000 kilograms of low enriched uranium (LEU), enough for a single bomb's worth of uranium after further enrichment. The IAEA also found that Iran had underreported its stock of LEU by about 200 kilograms, which took the agency by surprise partly because it only checks Iran's stockpile once a year. This is the basis for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Michael Mullen's weekend acknowledgment that the U.S. believes Iran has enough fissile material to make a nuclear bomb.

Iran now possesses 5,600 centrifuges in which it can enrich uranium -- a 34-fold increase from 2006 -- and plans to add 45,000 more in the next five years. That will give Tehran an ability to manufacture atomic bombs on an industrial scale. Iran also announced Wednesday that it plans to begin operating its Russian-built reactor at Bushehr sometime this spring. That reactor's purposes are ostensibly civilian, but it will eventually produce large quantities of spent fuel that can covertly be processed into weapons-usable plutonium.

That's not all. The IAEA reports that its inspectors have been denied access to a heavy water reactor in Arak, and that Iran has put

The chosen one wants his fellow muzzies to have a nuke. He will do nothing to stop it from happening, but he will try to stop Israel from attacking Iran.

Foolish, childish naivete..... In addition to wrecking our economy this idiot is going to do what he can to start World War III.

The messiah will do nothing to prevent further advances by his brothers in Iran...

It will be left to the Israelis to handle... and they will in their own time.

Our troops are within a nuke carbome range of Iran. We need to attack or get out of there. Heck, half of our deaths in Iraq are non-hostile.

And time is running out.

Iran would never trust the United States under Zero. How could they? Zero has not held true to his word to Americans. Remember, “Change you can believe in?” It should be “change you can fear.” And Iran will not reciprocate a halt to their nuke program with the lies of the Obamanites.

Ahmadinejad is probably giggling in anticipation when he thinks of how his meeting will go with Obummer.

A kind of sad replay of how Jimmy Carter handled the mullahs back in '79.

The real problem is no one knows.
There is not a person on this planet (besides larry sinclair)
who believes one thing that guy says.
I teach high school, and the kids know within 5 minutes who they can push around and who they can’t.
Nobody thinks if bambi gets hit in the mouth he does anything about it which is a very dangerous situation.

"Pretty please abandon your nuclear ambitions."
Heck, maybe I'll even send a few billion your way if you do."
