SPEAKERS TO BE ANNOUNCED |
I’ll be there.
I agree with that.
Great, more small gatherings that are not reported by the MSM and had zero impact, other than to make us feel good.
I disagree with this. Tea parties in and of themselves are not the answer. But they are part of it. We need action like you mentioned, but we also need people in the streets to show numbers. The MSM can't ignore it forever, and there are plenty of alternative outlets to get the message out.
This is not either/or.
The Obama-backed union thugs along with the ACORN street activists will be sent out to disrupt this event in Philly. It will certainly make the news but only because of the acts of the leftist agitators against the Tea Party. Knowing how the Philly media operates, they will blame any incidents on the conservatives.
I doubt that will happen. This is on National Park Service grounds. We will have a permit. The Park Rangers are VERY professional and competent and will not allow disruption. We had a small permitted counter-protest to Cindy Sheehan/Code Pink a couple of years ago and a couple of them tried to charge across the street at us. The Park Rangers were right there, so they backed off.
Union thugs pay taxes too!
Ping!
Ping!
Just so you know because you have kids, this is next to the visitor’s center where there are restrooms and a snackbar.
Russ, come on out to Independence Hall that day and you can write up a first person, first hand account of how it went. Fair enough?
“....Just so you know because you have kids, this is next to the visitors center where there are restrooms and a snackbar....”
Oh great, now I’ll be broke...”Dad, just one more Hot Dog and Candy bar...”
The “Dad” stimulus package..
JK..thanks for the heads up!
I just might be able to make it. Thanks!

Tax Day Tea Party - Edenton
It’s a great time. I promise you won’t regret it.
There’s parking right below the site. Entrances on 5th and 6th between Market and Arch. Can be a bit pricey but it’s very convenient.
We should plan for the Freepers to go somewhere afterwards for a bite and good conversation. There’s a Cosi a block down on Market or there’s The Borse on 5th even closer.
I feel your pain that these little rallies are not enough, but you need to remember that their are first resorts and last resorts and you must go down the line, exhausting them all, until the last one is the only one. These rallies are the beginning, not a definition of the entirety of this movement. Everything must happen in order much like our founding fathers had done with the British. So yes, these rallies are of extreme importance, because I know I don’t want the last resort to come anytime soon. If you need to know what the last resort is that I am talking about, read some Thomas Jefferson quotes.
Thanks,
Chris Clemency
Hey man, if you dont mind a newby freeper coming along, Id love to after the rally
Thanks for the ping kid! I’ll be sure to be there. In fact, I can’t wait! : )
BUT
I was impressed with the last one. It's the largest gathering I've seen at Independence Hall, or center city for that matter, though not as large as the one in Valley Forge on behalf of the troops. And the organizers are putting together a local mailing list of people upon which to build. This is going on across the country. That's a good thing.
Someone posted a thread on FR about having a large protest in DC in the next few months. I'll find it and post a link.
