Nothing new. The insurance companies figured THIS out a long time ago.

An interesting article about one possible future. Of course, none of this will apply to the fat cats or the Hollywood elites or the political class. They will simply jet off to a clinic set up by doctors — specialists in diseases of the rich — on some Carribean island and pay cash for their dialysis.

...or the political class...

If the current administration wants to implement such a health care program, let THEM try an "experimental version" of the plan first.

Let this plan APPLY ONLY the governmental employees and replace their current insurance plan. See how it works for them. Let our politicians be the guinea pigs for this new plan, not the whole country. But, if they are happy, and find that they actually enjoy the frustrations of nationalized health care with all its limitations, and have no problems getting the care they need through it, then it can be set in place for the general public.

Chances are they will not like it, will be inconvenienced and not receive the care they have been enjoying and perhaps, suffer what they are proposing the public should do. Then, of course, the plan will flop and die a certain death. If they are the first to be subjected to plan, then maybe they will take a closer look at the damage they are proposing that will be done to our health care in the U.S.

Considering that the "boomers" were the one demanding legalized abortion,it only proves that cheapening anyone's life cheapens yours as well.

I'm a boomer who said in 1973"if it is alright to kill babies now, soon they will kill the old and sick".Really.I opined exactly that on seeing the Supreme Court decision on the eveing news that day.My parents didn't know what to say;I don't think my parents realized that abortion wouldn't continue to be an unusual solution just for "bad" girls, but would become commonplace.

EXTREME URGENT ALERT: please defend the medical conscience rule, which the Obama HHS wants to abolish.

Healthcare providers must not be forced to cooperate with death-dealing policies.

Comments supporting conscience rights for medical providers may be submitted by email at proposedrescission@hhs.gov

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS, DO IT AGAIN!

I heard that the response process has received a significant number of pro-medical-conscience comments. It is essential to keep this up. Please do this without delay! Details below.

President Obama's proposal to rescind a policy that protects the conscience rights of health care workers has now been formally published in the Federal Register; there are only THREE MORE WEEKS available for public comment on the proposal. Pro-life groups in the United States are urging concerned citizens to voice their concerns.

The medical conscience policy, one of the last acts of the Bush Administration, protects health care workers from being forced to perform and provide controversial services that conflict with their personal, moral and religious beliefs. This would include --- but is not limited to --- abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, non-voluntary denial of care to people with disabilities or people over a certain age threshhold, etc.

Comments may be submitted by email at proposedrescission@hhs.gov

Comments should provide the following:

"1. Information, including specific examples where feasible, addressing the scope and nature of the problems giving rise to the need for federal rulemaking and how the rule for PROTECTION OF MEDICAL CONSCIENCE RIGHTS for health care providers, both individual and institutional, would resolve those problems.

"2. Information, including specific examples where feasible, supporting or refuting allegations that the December 19, 2008 final rule [Bush's medical conscience rule]reduces access to information and health care services, particularly by low- income women.

"3. Comment on whether the December 19, 2008 final rule [the medical conscience rule] provides sufficient clarity to minimize the potential for harm resulting from any ambiguity and confusion that may exist because of the rule; and

"4. Comment on whether the objectives of the December 19, 2008 final rule might also be accomplished through non-regulatory means, such as outreach and education."

Prayer for Those Who Are Terminally Ill (Especially the Elderly)

Lord Jesus, you healed so many people during your public ministry. I bring before you now, in prayer, all those who are terminally ill -- those afflicted with cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses.

Look lovingly and compassionately upon them. Let them feel the strength of your consolation. Help them and their families to accept this cross they are asked to carry.  Protect them from euthanasia, Lord.

Let them see you carrying their cross with them, at their side, as you once carried yours to Calvary. May Mary be there, too, to comfort them.

Lord Jesus, I know and believe that, if it is your will, you can cure those I pray for (especially N.). I place my trust in you. I pray with faith, but I also pray as you did in Gethsemane: your will be done.

Bless us, Lord, and hear my prayer. Amen.

Bingo! Abortion has resulted in the loss, so far, of 50 million taxpayers. The next phase of this will be to legalize euthanazia. At that point, the 'right to die' will become the 'obligation to die'. The younger generation will feel justified in this decision since our generation authorized the termination of their peers.

And you are right ... all of this was forseeable back in 1973.
