Global Warming: On Hold?

For those who have endured this winter's frigid temperatures and today's heavy snowstorm in the Northeast, the concept of global warming may seem, well, almost wishful.
But climate is known to be variable -- a cold winter, or a few strung together doesn't mean the planet is cooling. Still, according to a new study, global warming may have hit a speed bump and could go into hiding for decades.
Earth's climate continues to confound scientists. Following a 30-year trend of warming, global temperatures have flatlined since 2001 despite rising greenhouse gas concentrations, and a heat surplus that should have cranked up the planetary thermostat.

Don't worry, no need to panic, it's just been postponed. Carry on with the taxes etc.

Yeah, postponed until the heat of the summer, when the protestors and marches are not interrupted by snowstorms!

Plus, now Jack Bauer is on the case. Sutherland's pitch to fight "climate change" in an ad on '24' tonight kinda pissed me off.
That, and the possibility the show has completely jumped the shark.

Record lows mean that global warming is here, just not yet?
This reeks of the crazy lady who is afraid to walk around outside because a semi might run her over.

Global warming is just resting. It's pining for the fjords!

It truly is amazing the capacity Liberals have for denying the glaringly obvious. This article admits the data does not support their "consensus" but it doesn't matter. They have their conclusion and they're sticking to it regardless.

But, what about “Man-Bear-Pig”???
Won’t climate change destroy it too????

It seems to me over the last couple of years the temperature has plummet ted. That doesn't appear flat.

Wow, you mean climate on a global scale is a complex problem? That maybe (as myself and many have said and others have proven) the global climate models (GCMs) are:
- Inconsistent with each other.
- Inaccurate, failing to predict past and current conditions from prior data.
- Wildly sensitive to input conditions and run-time parameters, leading to tremendous swings in results from relatively minor changes.
- Based in large part on suspect data - data with "corrective" factors and adjustments (land use, population changes, metering technology upgrades etc.) that are larger than the trends they supposedly predict.
I do large scale computer modeling for a living. I know some of the fundamental issues with computer modeling of complex systems. The factors listed above mean you don't have a viable model or models, and the results aren't worth the media they are stored on. GCMs are at best,
at best a work in progress. They are no where near ready to be used to make important decisions.
