Smerconish: ‘We Need To Dilute Influence Of Conservatives In Primaries’

Yo Smerc: who’s “we”? You voted for Barack Obama . . .

But let’s leave aside Michael Smerconish’s presidential preferences and focus on the substance of his remarks. On this evening’s Hardball, Smerconish claimed that Republicans need to “dilute the influence of the conservatives in the Republican presidential nominating process, because we are nominating people who can’t get elected.”

Smerconish was responding to a clip of Rush Limbaugh calling on RNC Chairman Michael Steele to do just the opposite, and do something “about our open primary system and fixing it so that Democrats do not nominate our candidates.”

If you watch the video clip, you’ll see that Pat Buchanan was dying to jump in, but Chris Matthews had to end the segment. So let me say what I’m guessing was on Pat’s mind:

“dilute the influence of the conservatives in the Republican presidential nominating process, because we are nominating people who can’t get elected”

Yes, because liberal Republicans like John McCain do so well.

Inept moron.

I have not listened to Liberal Smerconish’s radio program for at least a year nor do I plan to ever listen to his nonsense again.

Uh, the GOP for some dumb reason has its first primaries and caucuses in solid blue states with no requirement for party membership, how much more unconservative can you get?

Yeah, let’s see.

Nominated George W. Bush, twice. Got elected, twice.

Nominated John S. McLame. Got whooped.

Why does Smerconish matter at all? I heard he lost his radio show after he endorsed Obama.

This guy is a clown and you cannot possibly support Obama at this point if you have even a shred of conservatism in you.

Smerconish is a sell-out, media-whore loser.

Seems that the past election proves him wrong on the face of it.

No, the problem with the RNC is their ability to cross isles.
And not holding primaries on the same days as the RATs!

What’s a Smerconish? Some new style of Philly Cheese Steak? Or a new flavor of ice cream?

I haven't listened to Smerconish since the day he announced for Obama.
Never liked him too much in the first place.
And he thought he was going to break into prime time TV in a big way......not in my book!

Seriously, is there anything Smerconish wouldn’t do to get a national TV show? Anything at all?

I haven't listened to 10 seconds of blowhard Smerconish since the summer when he finally 'admitted' he is a leg tingling Obama loon.

It was obvious long before, but he finally came out of the closet.

I am ashamed that he comes from Bucks County Republican stock, the same stock which is responsible for making Bucks County one of the most well run counties in the country, and one with the highest AAA+ bond rating due to fiscal diligence and responsibility.

It made me sick over the summer to hear Smerconish blast the Bush administration for "not going after Osama bin Ladin" in Pakistan.... and SURPRISE ... it's since been revealed that Bush in fact attacked unilaterally inside Pakistan nearly 300 times with unmanned DRONES, seeking to kill bin Ladin and alQaeda.

So much for Smerconishs' judgement. So much for Smerconishs' reason for supporting Obama (Smerconish said he supported Obama because Obama vowed to unilaterally attack Pakistan to get bin Ladin)

I truly wish Smerconish would just move on to MSNBC which is obviously where he truly longs to be... right beside his other leg tinglers.

At least then we could get a local talk show host on that station.

So it’s Smerc’s theory that McCain’s problem was being too CONSERVATIVE?

Where to begin?

Exactly. Could Smerconish possibly be more clueless? I mean really, the guy embarrasses himself.

God are you ugly, Mike. Radio for you is a far better venue.

I warned about Michael "bragged about having an after dinner cigar with Castro" Smerconish, for years. He began in talk radio pretending he was a conservative. I'd say the truth is completely out of the closet about him now.
