BAR HARBOR, Maine The idea didnt get far two years ago or in its previous incarnations but the concept of allowing municipalities to adopt local-option taxes is going back to the Legislature again.
Rep. Elsie Flemings of Bar Harbor is working on a bill that would let Maine towns and cities impose an additional sales tax within their borders. Flemings said last week that the proposed bill is in draft form and has not yet been assigned a formal bill number for the Legislature to consider.

I was raised on MDI and love it there. It’s a shame what the liberal retards have done to the legislative processes.
As far as the exodus goes, I live in southern Maine now. My wife and I are putting the house on the market in the spring, and planning a move to NH next summer or fall.
