In the same month that Logan International Airport hiked its parking rates by $1, Governor Deval Patrick is asking for another $2 parking "carbon fee" as part of his transportation overhaul filed this week. The carbon fee, described on page 137 of Patrick's 141-page bill, would that mean a 20- or 30-minute trip to pick up a relative at Logan could cost $6 in parking alone, not including tunnel tolls, which could rise to as much as $7 if legislators fail to pass Patrick's other proposal to raise the gas tax. Three hours in a Logan garage would cost $18; all-day parking in a garage would run $26.
Boston's short-term rates are currently higher than those in the nation's largest cities - from New York's LaGuardia to Los Angeles International, to Chicago's O'Hare.

In the comments section of the article, the moonbats are being shouted down about 10 to 1.
Meanwhile 15 inches of fresh-packed global warming fell on Boston today. March 2nd!!
LOL!
Post of the day.
They absolutly deserve it in Mass. I say make it 20.
Boston...why not move to Cuba...at least you would get better weather...until global warming sinks the island. of course, but according to algore that might be until next year...try to stay warm until then...
Shoveled my driveway at 6am to get to work. Fluffy snow so it wasn’t that bad. Usually around where I am(10 mi. north of Boston) the snow is heavy and wet. This year it’s been colder and the snow is much lighter. Take that AlGore!
Oh, the blessing of TAXATION WITH REPRESENTATION have come to their fruition.
BTW, There is a delightful airport not too far south.
Also, there is a delightful airport not too far north.
These politicians are not pursuing any logical policy -- they just want to see the world burn.
In a way this is a goods thing. It shows the triviality of the green tax concept. Discouraging people from driving to an airport with a green tax is insane. All future green taxes will be suspect as they should be.
Manchester to the north. Much easier to deal with.
T.F. Green in Providence.
Exra parking fees
Carbon Fees
Tolls to pay for the big dig fiasco
High hotel taxes
You left out the easy-to-navigate one way streets...and chronic construction...
Southwest Airlines is about to move into Logan this fall, for budget conscious travelers. But while you may save money on
your flight, you’ll just lose it again on parking and other
fees. Let’s see, do I drive 30 miles to fly out of Logan
or 50 miles to fly out of Manchester NH? (Manch is cheaper
in long run.) Way to drive people away from Logan, Deval!
Damn right! While I did fly Jet Blue (to Long Beach) out of Logan last year, usually I fly Southwest out of “Manchester-Boston Regional Airport”.
Deval! I got a great idea for reducing the carbon footprints. Any idea how much gas is wasted, and all the pollution, from people’s cars idling at toll booths?
Save the earth—TAKE DOWN THE DAMN TOLL BOOTHS
We usually take the water shuttle, out of Quincy, when we fly. Of course ,the round trip ticket prices have gone up but it beats the ridiculous parking fees at Logan.
Mini-O strikes again!
