So did Alex Castellanos need a cigarette after listening to the SOTU?
1. No, I am not a Dem plant (put here since 1998) trying to sow dissension because I am posting a message about a GOP operative saying listening to Obama is like having sex. I think that this is important because it points to the fact that Obama's oratory affects people other than Chris Matthews.
2. This video is only 25 seconds, so you don't have to complain about it being too long and then pretend I took something out of context when I didn't.
3. It's actually pretty funny. Lighten up. LOL!

Why do our strategists ALL suck. Not just Castellanos— ALL OF THEM. They all suck. We don’t have anyone as quick (or ugly) as James Carville or devious as Paul Begala.
I saw Romney’s guy Kevin Madden. I was infuriated. He’s getting pummeled by an all liberal panel and he just sits there trying to appease them and be liked. Pathetic.

Unfortunately, real Republicans tend to be out taking action in the world directly themselves, not serving as weenie political consultants. A big problem for us, because you’re right—we could use some real political consultants, too!
Sometimes I feel I'm the only one who can't hear this "amazing" speaker. When O opens his mouth, I hear someone who: hasn't a clue what he's talking about; pauses like he's a badly-programmed robot searching for the right human word; and uses cliches so transparent that even the stupident voter alive should be able to see right through him.
I don't see Obama, the amazing speaker -- I see a bumbling idiot. (Apologies to true idiots.) Am I the only one??
Once you realize that O is lefthanded (bar sinister), start watching how he uses his right hand and understand that no gesture he makes with his right hand is natural, but choreographed. His "air pinch" and other gestures are straight out of religious iconography.
Watch the "shoulder grab" which is intimidatory, and he usually uses his right hand to grab unless he's irritated. (See "Joe" vs "annoying WH pressroom question")
He's got some kind of psychological expert designing his speeches, because there's very little effective or memorable in the actual speech.
Except that "not one dime. your taxes won't go up one dime"...that's one we can keep and use.
