Iran demands apology from visiting Hollywood team over 'insulting' movies

TEHRAN, Iran — An adviser to Iran's president Sunday demanded an apology from a team of visiting Hollywood actors and movie industry officials, including Annette Bening, saying films such as "300" and "The Wrestler" were "insulting" to Iranians.

Without an apology, members of Iran's film industry should refuse to meet with representatives from the nine-member team, said Javad Shamaqdari, the art and cinema adviser to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"In my viewpoint, it is a failure to have an official meeting with one who is insulting," Shamaqdari told The Associated Press.

The film "300," portrays the battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC, in which a force of 300 Spartans held off a massive Persian army at a mountain pass in Greece for three days. It angered many Iranians for the way Persians are depicted as decadent, sexually flamboyant and evil in contrast to the noble Greeks.

Iranians also criticized "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke as a rundown professional wrestler who is preparing for a rematch with his old nemesis, "The Ayatollah." During a fight scene, "The Ayatollah" tries to choke Rourke with an Iranian flag before Rourke pulls the flagpole away, breaks it and throws it into the cheering crowd.

Hey Iran, don't bitch. Invade Hollyweird and turn it into an Izzlumic state instead of a radical liberal fag state.

Haven’t seen The Wrestler but I thought 300 was an outstanding movie for what it was.

Penn and Clooney should go over there and apologize in person. Then have their heads chopped off.

I haven't seen either one. I think it's hysterical that these people from the movie industry would think that they'd be treated as anything other than infidels.

Oh come on, Shamaqdari, you don’t know your movie criticism!

The Love Guru. Now that was insulting. I mean, if you’re going to have Hollywood apologize for insulting films, you might as well go whole hog. Oh sorry, that was insulting too, wasn’t it?

Anyone see the movie EAGLE EYE’ (with Shea Labeouf)?

There was a scene where an Iranian-American was fried by electrical wires and the FBI reads the background after investigating:

‘(NAME)...REGISTERED REPUBLICAN. he’s clean as a whistle...”

As a registered Republican Iranian-American I can attest to that.

Most mugged-by-islamism Iranian-Americans are registered Republicans.

Now about the movie 300 the reason it was such a debacle was that it demonized the very people -- American allied Persian nationalalists who's country was overtaken by the anti-Persian, anti-American, PAN-islamist mullahcracy -- who Americans should support in this fight.

You see, the pro-USA Iranians are getting it from both sides: the mullahs AND the Hollywood leftists and therefore the American public.

Tee hee. Perhaps they’d like an apology from the “Team America” folks, and the makers of “American Carol,” and my own “Witless Protection.” Too funny.

As a Iran-born GOP member, can you vouch for the “Persians” in L.A.?

Yes, we should kow-tow to appease the radical Islamists. Nancy Pelosi says a prayer rug is nice and if we just give money, comfort and understanding, they will like us more.

What I can vouch for is that Iranians have ALWAYS been pro USA, not only Iranians living here in USA, but even the ones stranded in Iran. Even leftists such as Thomas Freedman and others who've visited Iran have no choice but admit the fact. No leftist has been able to exploit the Iranians community as they have other M.E. communities — Iranians being very happy and successful and thoroughly assimilated into the American culture and society, would have non of it from these bozos (Democrats have known that Iranians put a lot of the blame for what happened to their country at the unpardonable machinations of carter and gang!) and they have learned to accept it and therefore to pretty much ignore the Iranian communities scattered not just in LA but throughout the country.

So yes, I do vouch that MOST Iranians are pro-USA and anti-mullah so therefore ANTI-carter/kerry/obama-let's-make-friendship-with-axis-of -evil-mullahs ruling, and sucking the blood of their country.
