President Obama's chief of staff said conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and suggested that Limbaugh's desire for the president's policies to fail is the uniform position of the GOP.
Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said Limbaugh is the "intellectual force" of the GOP and Republicans now have to live with that choice.
"He is the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. And he has been up front about what he views, and hasn't stepped back from that, which is he hopes for failure. He said it. And I compliment him for his honesty, but that's their philosophy that is enunciated by Rush Limbaugh. And I think that's the wrong philosophy for America," Emanuel said on CBS' "Face the Nation."
On Saturday, Limbaugh gave an hour-and-a-half speech to cap off the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. Limbaugh said it's fine for Republicans to criticize Obama's plans and Republicans must return to their core philosophies.
He added that Obama's plan won't restore prosperity and that's why he wants it to fail.

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
We’re onto you, Alinsky nutjobs.
Payback is hell especially when you are trying to ruin this country!!! Why don't you send me a dead fish you little putz!
What a little smart ass hypocrite!
FAIL OBAMA FAIL!!!
Emanuel: Rush Prays For Obama’s Failure

Schieffer asked if Emanuel really believed that Limbaugh was such an influential force within the GOP, to which his guest said, “I do think he’s an intellectual force, which is why the Republicans pay such attention to him.”
“But our goal, Bob, is to continue to reach out,” Emanuel added. “And it’s our desire that the Republicans would work with us and try to be constructive, rather than adopt the philosophy of somebody like Rush Limbaugh, who is praying for failure.”
TRANSLATION: We want the Republicans to roll over and stop obstructing our communist agenda.
Barrier to progress?
his country has never had unanimity in politics, why is it needed now?
Because OBAMA WILL FAIL, no matter what anyone says. His kind of policies have always failed, whether implimented in a democray, or in a totalitarian state.
" They don't elevate the bottom, the tear down the top!" is a recipe for disaster.
Obama wants disaster. And America has not yet begun to ask why, But we are getting closr to that point.
Obama wnats to destroy the nation that he hates, just as he hates white people, as outlined in his books.
Rush doesn't have to cheer the failure of Obama in order for obama to actually fail. Its a done deal. Obama WILL fail.
Saul Alinski indeed.
Rush Limbaugh is Emmanuel Goldstein, and it is time for the two minute hate.
Rep. Eric Cantor, the fourth-ranking Republican in the House, could be next on the list. He said Sunday he does not take the Limbaugh approach of supporting failure.
“I don’t think anyone wants anything to fail right now. We have such challenges. What we need to do is we need to put forth solutions to the problems that real families are facing today. And our common-sense, conservative principles of limited government, and the belief in free markets, and the belief that really opportunity can only be created by the private sector are going to undergird our proposals going forward,” Cantor told ABC’s “This Week.”
Rush Limbaugh must be doing something right to get all these little socialist to trash him. Maybe we will be next...I HOPE! They always over reach!
You are damned right, Schneider, we are ANGRY!
And Rahm told me Unicorns s**t ice cream...
REFRAME YOUR DEBATE (like libs do):
Voters speaking out is a “barrier to progress!”
How DARE a private U.S. Citizen speak out against the Chosen Ones!!
“Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel...suggested that Limbaugh’s desire for the president’s policies to fail is the uniform position of the GOP.”
It’s not just the desire of Rush, but of every conservative American in the country! And Rahm ought to know that many independents and moderate Democrats are beginning to voice the same desire. It doesn’t take too many gray cells to see the logical and inevitable outcome of Obama’s policies.
Exactly! But we are supposed to roll over and take it! Not a chance!
“Those pesky rights of dissent and free speech are getting in the way of the messiah’s agenda. “
Remember, when under the Bush presidency liberals were running around telling us that “dissent is patriotic”. What happened to their very own slogan? Now that Obama is president, all of a sudden dissent is not patriotic anymore.
"Our" congresscritters need to grow a pair...maybe these will help!
Nobody is being told to listen to Rush. 20 million people are chooising to do so for themselves and it drives these little marxist wannabe tyrants insane because people left to themselves do not choose their ideas whenever they are presented side by side, on equal footing.
No, the marxist/leftists want to use the power of government to force things. They want to use the power of government to ensnare people with handouts, rather than teaching them to stand on thier own two feet.
So, they have to take people like Rush and Hnnity down because they themselves are proof positive that the marxists are not needed...and when people are left to choose for themselves without being ensnared by their soical engineering...they are also not wanted.
...Limbaugh can’t implement a single idea.
Nor can he stop anything the left wants to do.
And yet he’s liberal public enemy number 1.
Very interesting...
What’s funny... AND ironic -
They’re blasting Rush for saying he wants obama to fail.
Yet they’re ranting and raving -TRYING to get Rush, a private tax-paying citizen to fail at his business.
This is GOVERNMENT???
Seems like Rush didn’t just scare the dems with his speech, but the entire beltway. LMAO
GOOD!
progress = coercion
I think Obama knows his policies will fail, and he’s written off a second term in favor of pushing his agenda and getting as much of done as possible. A shrewd politician like Clinton woul curry favor from the opposition, give in a little, and make sure there would be enough success to point at during the next election cycle. But the way this administration is going the failure will come next year and he’ll be in the toilet by the next election.
This is nothing less than the implementation of a planned strategy. The beauty of it is that Michael Steele, Eric Cantor and the rest of the ball-less wonders of the GOP are going to do most of the work.
