"He at that point he was confronted by another officer, who at that time saw the suspect make movements as if he were trying to reach toward a weapon. The officer feared for her safety and at that time fired several shots at the suspect. None of the shots struck the suspect," said Deputy Chief Nevarez."

SHE likely needs range time and wrist curl exercises.

Sounds like an “F” in target practice.

Actually it sounds like she either missed on purpose, or did the cute, affirmative action female hiree thing of closing her eyes tightly and shooting up at the sky. Two pigeons were killed, but the suspect got away.

They need some good-old redneck boys from Ar-kansas on their force.

Get em out to the range and have the two Border Agents that just got out of prison come by and give them some lessons.

I don’t want to judge, but it does seem like it should read: “She fired several shots in his direction.”

With rednecks the force would save ammunition. Only one shot would have been needed.

You're probably right, but in my book, anyone worth shooting once, deserves a double tap.

Most shots miss in combat, even really close, especially with pistols.

It would be nice to know how far away the suspect was and what she was shooting.

I would not want to have been behind the suspect.

fired several shots at the suspect

Rather than kill or hurt the guy she was obviously just trying to shoot the gun out of his hand............happens all the time.

A couple of things from the update. "An officer on the other side of the highway caught up with the man and saw him make movements as if he were reaching for a weapon, a police official said." (Pretty much indicates a close range shooting.) Also, the suspect was on probation and lived in Los Angeles. Probably a L.A. gang member doing some home boy shopping for cash in Fresno on the weekend.

UPDATE: Police arrest bank robbery suspect

Sounds like that was the safest place to be. (/s)
