The Talk Shows
Sunday, March 1st, 2009
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen; Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag; House Republican Whip Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN) : Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen.
Gates on the difference between Bush and Ozero (he actually asks if they are different as president). Both are interested in all points of view. Ozero makes you speak up even if you don’t have anything useful to say.
So much for nerves of “Steele”..
He and others who think the same waydo NOT grasp the significance of what’s going on in the country. Fools.
well...it was 84 yesterday here in Phoenix and I played a round of golf......shot an 84 too.....at least it keeps me from explodin over politics
FNS
[Sort of half-listening and reading FR]
Did I hear Kyl right? That those ‘porky’ parts of the budget are NOT earmarks — “under the current definition”?
who knew Steele’s rino horn was really just a toothpick...
Steele did exactly what Rush warned against in his comments on the CNN show; he cow-towed to the media to maintain media popularity. Steele can go jump in a lake right now and I will send him an email letting him know that. Shame on him. The basic problem with the republican party today is the ignorance of Reagan’s 11th amendment. He can’t undo his remarks....he needs to learn to think before he speaks.
I’d give the RNC 500 bucks for 3 minutes of jack slappin Joe Scarborough
You too!
I’m not overly fond of Scarborough, but I’m glad he’s there this morning because he isn’t allowing Harold to get away with his nonsense.
The dem line is that we’re just going back to the Clinton era and wasn’t that just great.
DeeDee: Ozero is going to “fix” health care and “fix” education. Government has done such a great job so far with these things, so I should be reassured...right?
The chairman of the Republican National Committee has shot down hopes by minority homosexual groups that the party will open its “big tent” to endorse “civil unions” or homosexual marriage.
“What would we do that for? What are you, crazy? No.” Michael Steele told radio talk show host Mike Gallagher.

I don’t think the above statement from Chairman Steele will ingratiate him with the media.
..one of those plastic ones...you can bend them back and forth.
That statement will now be ignored; it will be his dissing of Rush that will be the main point they make about Steele. I am done with him.
Techincally there is a difference between what we call ‘pork” and earmarks.
Traditional pork is money for the “home” district. These were put in a bill but out in the open. They were debated in committee and on the floor, either as part of the bill or by amendment. “one district’s pork is another district’s need” (or whatever the saying is).
All politicians are guilty of this one. “Bring home the bacon”
“Earmarks” is money not designated in the original bill or by amendment. It is not debated or voted on on its own merit but a lump sum then divvied up after the bill has been approved “in the dead of night” with little or no time to debate.
The porkulus bill and the budget were filled with both.
Let’s be honest though and define the difference.
There are pubs who are guilty of “earmarks” but the majority of them are dems.
This gets a little complicated: Remember, Rush often called McCain "Yosemite Sam" during the campaign.
Am sick of F&F. Was sick of Brit Hume too, heaping praise on O’s speech. Sickening. We don’t need the msm to tell us what to think and I consider FNC a part of the main stream. They are afraid of losing some licensing to they are throwing the country to the wolves.
Rush was awesome. Following on Santelli I would say the left is going to have a great surprise.
When even Frank Rich attacks the substance of O’s speech you have to know something is out here in real America and the far left is noticing.
sounds like he is playin w/ it.......hehe
