Jackson, Mississippi - Many thanks to all make the effort and supported the 'Tea Party' at the capital today. Thanks too to those who wanted to attend but were unable to for various reasons. Threre will be many more opportunities in the coming months to contribute.
That day started with an interview with Mr. Paul Gallo on the SuperTalk. He gave us a great plug and encouragement.
Thanks goes out to Kip Gregory of 104.9 News Radio in Gulfport for the interview Thursday.
montesquiue, her husband and I arrived at the Capital shortly before 11am. We set up our table, unsure if anyone else would show up. Well, we did not have to wait long before people started arriving. But, these weren't FReepers! Folks had heard about the tea party on the radio, web searches and blogs. Approximatley 20 people attended. This may sound like a small number to some, but with the limited publicity we had and the Friday event, I was very pleased.
FReeper fatrat two-wheeled from Picayune, more than 150 miles to attend!
Some floks, non-FReepers, traveled from South Haven, more than 190 miles. We really appreciated their efforts!
Not everyone was able to stay and walk the block around the captial. Those that did attracted attention and got lots of thumbs up from passersby.
You are never too young to learn the value of Liberty.

All in all, the day was a success. We were able to meet like minded people and introduce them to Free Republic. This is only the beginning. It is going to be a long four years!
In the mean time, let's party!

This is good. I see that had a large turnout in Sacramento as well. I’m curious, how do the people ina MS feel about Sentor Cochran and his large earmark in the spending bill this week? I know he is hopping mad Glenn Beck put it out on his program yesterday.

Great signs! You have really creative Tea Partiers in Mississippi!

Nice photos of the State Capitol in Jackson. Nicer photo of the gold eagle at the top of the dome!
My grandfather, Thomas W. Starnes, climbed via rigging to the top of the Capitol and applied gold leaf to that eagle back during the Depression - he was a painter in Jackson.

Nice photos of the State Capitol in Jackson. Nicer photo of the gold eagle at the top of the dome! And of course, it faces South!

SO PROUD OF YOU MISSISSIPPI GUYS/GALS!!
Mississippi girl..20 years in Texas..after action report from Fort Worth....IT ROCKED!!
Now I understand why we had to choose a biker bar to protect our freedoms! It was amazing...I was wrong..the 7000 block of Camp Bowie was a perfect spot. The corner of a very large intersection. We had probably 300 people show up..great signs....took lots of pics..lots of patriots. A few people I met had driven over 100 miles to be there!
The Bikers did not carry signs..but you knew..they were there to protect our rights! It was comforting to know they had our backs....so to speak.
There was a minor ‘dust up’ ...I was told about second hand about some black guy starting trouble shouting ‘Obama..Obama..blah..blah..blah.’ From what I was told from the gal involved in the incident...she went out to meet him in the middle of the 8 lane intersection and told him she didn’t want to pay for his welfare...his house...blahblahblah. All of a sudden..the ‘media’ shows up with satellite trucks and the whole shooting match. The girl told me that the MSM girl told her flat out:...’You know we are going to paint this as ‘racist’.
The girl told me a story about her own troubles with the government as a white mom with a white child that had special needs. She can’t get any help. Anyway...just got home...still trying to digest it all. People are mad.

Sho Nuff!
I'm hoping to take my mom to visit Jackson during Spring Break. She's 88, 1939 grad of Central High. If she's well enough and her DR says she can go, we will be staying with family in Ridgeland.
