A grand time was had by all!

Very nice mother and daughter, not certain where they were from.
Crowd shot from the Cap steps
Speaker and coordinator Joan Fabiano--a force to be reckoned with!
Wide shot of part of the crowd
Another crowd shot
EXCELLENT!!
Considering that the planning of this event began late Monday afternoon, there was an impressive crowd. Big round of applause for Joan Fabiano and others who put this together so quickly!
The speakers were great and on point, but my favorite part of every rally is walking the crowd after the speakers are done, catching up with old friends and making new ones. I didn't have the guts to stand on the Cap steps and yell "Where are my fellow freepers? but I came pretty close.
I wish I was able to take a picture of all the great signs and all the wonderful people present! What I have here doesn't do it justice.
Nice turnout, it seems.
Questions:
1) How did the general public respond?
2) How did the local government respond?
3) How did the “authorities” (local law enforcement) respond?
This is a day in the life for local law. The Capitol has it's own small State Police contingent, supplemented by privately contracted security. They see a rally a week. They seemed inclined to be sympathetic with this one, though.
tea party made the state journal.

Looks like a pretty good turn out for a work day and typical Michigan weather. Sorry I couldn’t be there...
Wow, thanks so much for the quick post!
You don’t know how bad I wanted to be there! Hopefully, there are more of these, and I and others can attend! I can’t stand that I can’t do anything right now but wait for your post!! Good job!
Should be a good turn out....everyones unemployed in MI
Great Pics!! My son and I both took a vacation day to be there. I asked a state policeman standing there when we left and he guessed about three hundred people.
Great signs all over the place, freakin cold though, but well worth the two hour drive.
There was a crew there from an ABC affiliate and some other media.
UGH!!!!! I did NOT see Michigan on the list these past few days! I’d have been there!!! UGH!!!!
Well, not quite everyone...
WE are the general public, unless you consider the war protestors along the street to be generally public.
Great Pictures! I wanted to be there, but the use of crutches put a damper on that. It appears from the reports I’ve read that nationwide, there have been thousands attending protests. This is a great start and done in such a short amount of time.
Reading thru the reports, they just get better and better.
Anyone think the MSM will acknowledge these events?

Not everyone here is unemployed.
Contrary to popular myths, many of us here in Mi are employed and are concerned about keeping our jobs.
Again, thanks for the report, good job.
>I’m not sure what you mean by the general public. There was no kind of counter-rally, [snip].
Yep, that’s what I meant... The other two possibilities would be a general trend for them to join the rally, or ignore you. (This sounds like a lot of ‘ignore’.)
>This is a day in the life for local law. They see a rally a week. [snip]
>They seemed inclined to be sympathetic with this one, though.
That’s good news. When/if the SHTF we need as many of their “guns” as possible on “our” side.
