WASHINGTON - Emblazoned on every page of President Obama's budget are the words: "A New Era of Responsibility."
That would be a responsibility for you to fork over more taxes.
That would be a responsibility for your company to pay even higher taxes.
That would be a responsibility for you to foot the bill for one of the largest expansions of government welfare in history.
Obama's budget schemes to drain staggering amounts of money from people who worked for it and steer it to people who didn't.
This isn't the free market. It's the freeloader market.
"It is not just misguided but dangerous to raise taxes on small businesses and families that can't afford to pay them," said Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
According to the IRS, the top 20 percent of wage earners already pay 85 percent of the taxes in this country. Under Obama's new redistribution alchemy, the percentage they shoulder invariably will rise.
And the ranks of people reliant upon this fattened government will surely go up, too.
In addition to spending billions more on government welfare programs, Obama takes one of the few widely acclaimed programs in the federal government and turns it into a ticking time bomb.
Buried deep in the spending plan, Obama proposes spending even more on the Pell Grant program, which pays tuition costs for select students.
Most alarming, Obama wants to turn it into an entitlement. In other words, he proposes to dramatically increase its size and make it a permanent and untouchable part of annual federal spending with further built-in yearly increases.

Of all the things to complain about in this bill, the Pell Grants seems to be a pretty minor issue.
At least college increases peoples earning power.
People will figure this out. Why would you go out there now and bust your but to make the money when you can’t keep much of it?? There will be loop holes and Bambi will not be able to make his budget....my prediction.
Fake, hyped up “crisis.” All politics, all the time with these bass turds.

Exactamundo! So long as “college” includes trade and vocational schools, there’s no downside.
Paying college tuition increases the professor’s earning power - and funds the acedemic left. More funding for his communist revolution.

Maybe you two missed the part about targeting these Pell grants to “select” students? That is the key. It’s a cover for more affirmative action. Why the hell should I pay for someone elses college education?
1) Why should I have to pay for someone else’s education?
2) Why should education be so expensive?
3) Why should a college education be a right?
4) Why increase government dependency? When you do that, you enlarge the voting block for the biggest Uncle Santa on the block.
Yes! All good points!
Tea Party!!!!.....Tea Party!!!!!.....Tea Party!!!!!
Anyone else notice how close the book Atlas Shrugged is getting to being “non-fiction”?
“Anyone else notice how close the book Atlas Shrugged is getting to being non-fiction?”
Anyone else notice how close the book 1984 is getting to being non-fiction?”
As laughably ironic as a chastity seminar in a whorehouse.
Don’t forget as well, that there are strings attached to this college money. Kids will be forced when accepting it, into community service to repay it. The key is what kind of service? Is this the Brown Shirt base for Obama? Methinks probably.........
His base will never consider voting for a Republican candidate anyway. He and the dims "created" this crisis to expand the giveaways to those who are in the middle.
Why work? Just vote democrat.
Not a tough prediction, since Obama himself projects this budget to be $1.75 TRillion short.
I said similar words last night, when looking for Orwell’s “Animal Farm” (to give to my young niece). I couldn’t find any Orwell at all, and asked if he got moved to non-fiction since Obama was elected. LOL
