After the Heller ruling, the D.C. city council passed a law requiring would-be gun owners to pay a registration fee, pass a 20-question multiple choice test, take a five-hour training course, undergo an invasive background check every six years, re-register any firearm every three years, and finally, submit all handguns for ballistics testing. Current D.C. law also bans an overwhelming majority of firearms commonly used for self-defense. This Ensign Amendment would also remedy that unjust practice.

THIS ?

The 36 who voted against preserving US citizens constitutional rights should not be senators anymore.

Good news BUT Holder is hell bent on re-instating that “assault” weapon ban. If I take a butter knife and assault someone, does that make the butter knife an assault weapon? Is he saying if someone shoots 10 people with a .22 pistol or rifle, or a .38 revolver it’s less of an assault weapon than an AR 15 or an AK 47?

They'll affirm the Second Amendment in one breath and ban everything but flintlocks in the next.

Where's Orwell when we need him?

Lugar was the only R to vote “nay.” Most of the Dems who voted “nay” are from the Left Coast and Northeast. No surprise there, right?

Some of the same a__holes who voted ti “uphold the 2nd Amendment” will vote to make the AWB permanent. This time they will make the transfer of ANY hi-cap mags illegal, not just pre-ban mags.

U.S. Senate Votes to Uphold Second AmendmentWTF? They ignore it whenever they feel like it. Whenever I hear a piece of info coming out of DC that says they are going to do this or that, I IMMEDIATELY assume that the opposite is true.

But the Supes just affirmed the Lautenberg theft of rights.

Until the people revolt and re-write the constitution in absolutely unambiguous terms, there really are no rights.
